New owner - Thor Quantum 31

We are in the process of purchasing a new 2017 Thor Quantum 31-foot, ps31 floorplan. We have earnest money down, but have not submitted the final payment until we have a final walk-through and orientation. So, am interested in learning from others the kinds of potential questions or issues I should be examining during that final walk-through based on others' experiences. We love the unit and are excited about this new chapter in life. We were boaters for years, so not unfamiliar with many of the systems.

Hello, and welcome to the forum. There are many, many PDI (pre-delivery inspection) checklists out there on the internet. Here's one, for example:

Just do a Google search on "RV PDI" or "motorhome PDI" and you'll find quite a few that you can use as a starting point. Above all, do not let the dealer rush you through your walk-through - make them take the time to thoroughly explain each system to your satisfaction, ask questions, and take lots of notes. I also take pictures of things as we progress through the walk-through. In times' past, I videotaped the entire walk-through so that I could go back and refer to it later on.

If it moves check it, if it has a switch, check it!!!

Easiest way is a methodical check, have a notepad to make note of items that are bad or directions on how to use something. On the outside start at the entry door, move around the coach in a clockwise direction and open every hatch and door, ask to have every compartment explained until you get back to the door. On the inside do the same thing, start at the door and go clockwise, be sure to crank open every window and every door, inspect the hinges and struts. If there is something you don't understand stop and ask. If your inspection doesn't take at least an hour you went to fast.

We were fortunate that we had a very thorough walk through but I recommend filming with your phone the walk through so that way later you have a reference to go back too. We just took purchase of our Thor quantum RS26 is February. And we love it.

Great suggestion on the filming .... we will do that. Happy to hear you are pleased with your unit as well .... we are quite excited to take possession of ours and begin the adventure!

Do you mean the PD31 or WS 31

Climb up the ladder and look at the back cap just before the rubber roof line. Had to have a couple pin holes fixed where screws penetrated from inside thru to outside.
