Cool New Palazzo

We have just taken delivery of a new 2016 33.2 Palazzo. One question about the fan in the inverter dept. Does the fan run continually? When the switch for the run/ store is switched to store it quits. It is understood that the fan must cool the compartment but it is loud enough to bother with sleep as it is located under the flooring under the bedroom area. Any insight would be appreciated. Otherwise the coach is excellent and we look forward to many miles of use.

Welcome to our Campfire!
How about some pictures of your new rig?
What made you choose this particular unit?

TWO TOILETS!!! Like getting a window a/c unit back in the 60's!! It's one of the best features we have ever had in a "camper" of any style!! Now...I can't see ever not having that luxury!!

I don't know how we survived. One bathroom and 6 kids at home. Didn't have a/c till 1970. I didn't even know I was poor because I knew lots that didn't have what we had.

I have a 2017 33.4 Palazzo and my inverter fan runs often. It is really noisy when the batteries are charging a lot, but then calms down once I'm at about 85% of full charge.

For instance, after driving to a destination, and the inverter has been running to keep the firdge going, the battereies will drain down. As soon as I plug in at the campground, the fan goes into hyperdrive and sounds like a small jet engine in there. About an hour later all is quiet again.

And we have only had our new rig for a few months, so still getting the hang of this new process. Had a 40' 5th wheel for a long time so this is a different experience. We are loving it so far.

Best of luck and keep us posted on your advnetures.

Congrats on the new Palazzo and welcome to the forum! Yes, you may hear a lot of fan noise when the inverter is running hard. It also depends on the ambient temperature outside as the unit must cool itself. There is a loss of energy converting DC to AC and it is lost through heat given off. The warmer it is, the harder the fan works. There is actually an overheat condition on most inverters where they alarm when it gets too hot to function properly.

Anyway, good luck and safe travels!

Funhog...I thought the chassis electrical system charges the house batteries while underway. Why is your fridge running the batteries down?

My suspiciion, and not sure how to test this yet,is the drain ont he bateries is faster than the replenishing charge while driving

these fans have been known to run longer than really needed, as the button sensor is not reading correctly...a technique to get it stopped is to put a little piece of ice on it, and it stops immediately. Maybe we've grown to ignore ours, but it can certainly run longer than you think it should, especially if you're trying to get some sleep right above it.

travel, enjoy!

just listed - 14' Palazzo 33.3! spread the word...
