THOR #27316
First RV purchased a 2022 Thor Rize 18M

Just myself and 2 dogs. I知 a young 72 but not sure of all operating maintenance stuff.
The overview of Thor was not very good so I知 at a loss for many operating items.
I have had Thor for 6 months my only car but only one overnight.
Just sold my house (husband passed away in 2020) and I thought I would hit the road but not sure where or what I知 doing.
Wish me luck and hope to get the hang of it and enjoy.

Where in Florida do you live? There's tons of us here. If you were reasonably close to us, we could meet up at a campground somewhere and spend a weekend making new friends and discovering everything mechanical about RV's. Most all of them operate on the same principal with the same or very similar components. Congratulations on the new venture and hat's off for keeping on keeping on. We have a very close friend that has experienced the same recent history. She bought a Winnebago Travato. It took her a few months to learn lots but she just got back from a 13 state venture through the upper mid-west....on her own very successfully. She's only 81. I'm certain there are others here that would make the same offer if they are close enough to you.

Go to a nearby campground / RV park and make friends. They can and will teach you all you need to know about your RV.

First let me say I'm sorry for your loss.

Second, you go! It takes courage to be willing to make a radical shift in your life, you sound like an amazing person. If you make it to the west and looking for places to explore/camp feel free to PM me!

I'll second what others have said. If you feel that you can get your RV into a campsite, and don't mind making friends. Go camping and find the first friendly face that has an RV or travel trailer. Tell them you're new and that the dealer wasn't terribly helpful getting you started. Have some cold beverages and at least a half day available!

New too!

I'm new to the Thor Rize too and just joined the Thor Forum but am familiar with RVs. Like you I have dogs - Papillons - and also at 72 I travel the Southeast U.S. entering dog agility trials. Agility trials are a great way for singles to be with others of like interests. Should or when you are in the Mobile, AL area, let me know. Maggie
