Howdy one and all from Abilene, Texas. Owners of a 2018 Thor Axis 25.2. Just got back from a trip to Estes Park, Colorado (about 2500 miles) short trip.
Am I crazy but, should one have to run the coach A/C in order to feel comfortable while rolling down the road? The cab A/C just doesn't keep up. The cab A/C worked fine in Colorado (60s to 80s) but when returning to Texas.
What say you?

The cab a/c should keep the cab area cool as long as you are not trying to cool the rest of the motor home. I put up a curtain between the cab and living area of the motor home just for that reason. I can either cool or heat up the cab area with the dash system.

While traveling in warm/hot climate, we run the house air with the generator for most of the entire trip. Also use the dash air at the beginning of the trip but turn it off when there is no sun directly facing the windshield. Dash air takes a bit of power from the engine, especially on hilly terrain. Keeps us happy, keeps the engine happy and keeps the generator happy (gennies love to run). And the DW can use the Keurig whenever her caffeine levels drop! Probably get better gas mileage running the generator as opposed to running the dash air, though it would take a bit of practical research under identical conditions to prove that theory. Maybe someone else has done that for us? I'm a little curious but either way, I'll still be running the house air...we live in Florida, and I have also found that it is hot everywhere in the summer months. Who'd o thought???

Welcome to the Forum!
We also added a curtain in our Sprinter-based C, and it made a HUGE difference.

I did the exact thing with the curtain that Bob has in his posting. It was an easy modification and makes a world of difference in the cab area.

Welcome to the forum. So far we are ok with how the dash ac keeps the temperature, but we've not gone anywhere with 90-100 deg temps.

Welcome to the forum! Our 25.2 is still a good fit for us after 6 years and 40K.
We often run both the dash and roof air on hot days. The plus about that instead of a curtain is that you have a cool coach at your destination. That said, a curtain would be one of your cheapest mods!

Welcome aboard. We run the dash A/C and most times it does the trick. Having a 75 pound dog on the couch prohibits us from putting up a curtain. The old boy doesn't want to feel left out of the action. If it starts getting too warm in the back we fire up Jenny and run the rooftop air. Gotta keep our furry Co-Pilot cool!
