New to the RV world
My husband and I are new comers to the RV world. Been planning for years now are proud owners of a 2017 Thor Windsport 29M. Have a lot to learn......first trip next weekend.....but very excited. Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated.

Make your first trip close to home and try out everything. Better to discover problems before going on a week long trip 500 miles from home. Even better would be to make your first trip near your dealer, that's what I did. If you run into any issues the dealer would probably send a tech to you.
Good luck and enjoy!

Thank you for the advice......we had spent two nights at the dealership when we purchased it, which got a lot of the small and some big problems fixed. But we are just going about 70 miles from home.

'cuse me for being nosy, but where's home? I'm originally from Lubbock, but have been gone from there for 40+ years (I still consider myself a Texas, even if I've lived in New England for the last umpty years.

Southeast Texas....just north of Beaumont. We have family in Lubbock.

I haven't been back there since my 40th high school reunion in 2005. We're planning a long looping trip in the Vegas for next Fall. Maybe we can make a stop then.

Congratulations on your new 29M, we have one and love it! Welcome to the forum, lots of super nice people here to assist with your questions, so if you have'm, ask em!!!
Under the Class A section look at the thread Jerry's Hurricane mods. Jerry has a 29M and started a Great thread for modifications, lots of Great contributors to this thread, and LOTS of great ideas. Please look at the posts for CHF (cheap handling fix), fairly easy to do in 1-2 hrs with no special tools and makes a HUGE difference in how your coach will drive! The CHF was one of the first of many mods we did to our coach.
Hope you enjoy your coach and have lots of FUN!!!

Congrats on the 29M, we spent 2 days at MHSRV last week and just returned home here to WPB. We love the 29M, we are going to do the sate t plus and CHF and that should make it more enjoyable to drive. Check out Jerry Hurricane mods for more info.

Put chf in the search box or scroll thru Jerry's Hurricane mods. Takes about 1-2 hours depending on how industrious you are, fairly easy to do with a torque wrench being the only special tool needed.

Welcome! The CHF along with a front end alignment probably helped my coach handle 30% better at highway speeds. My friend/neighbor just bought a used Challenger and we did the CHF on his last week. EasyPeazy my friend and you will be glad you did it.

It's a learning curve and my husband and I are learning all the time. One thing is, where ever you go camping, fellow RV campers have been extremely helpful if we needed to ask a question or anything. Have fun!

Welcome. My advice would be to always remember it's about having fun. When things don't work just understand they'll get worked out later and not to fret about them. Enjoy the moments and make happy memories.

First off - congrats on joining a real bunch! Bunch of what -not so sure but welcome.
Best advise you've gotten - short trips with a notepad. Ought to be far enough away to get the feel for driving you rig. Ought to use every device in you new coach.
Biggest thing is remember "the journey is the destination". Again enjoy.
