New to rv's.Thinking of 2012 TMC Chateau 23s

Hi. I'm Ron and I am new to rving. I am looking at a 2012 TMC Chateau 23s. It has the Mercedes 6 diesel. Is this a good vehicle? Not underpowered? What should I be concerned with and check out before buying it? It has 18k miles on it. Thanks

Welcome to our group from South Texas! I have a 24FE on Sprinter chassis. I drag a Jeep Wrangler with no problems.

Welcome to the best virtual RV Park in the Universe!
I've got a Sprinter-based RV that's a little bit larger, and it doesn't feel under-powered at all...

Test drive it for sure. have them hook it up to city water and power. Check for: all water working without any leaks, refrigerator gets cold, ac & furnace works, stabilizers/levelers work, all cabinet doors/drawers function. That's a good start. I'm sure others will have suggestions also. if you're buying from a dealer, check reviews on their nservice department.

Thanks much. It is at camping world. I have not heard much good about these guys. Does anyone know where I can access an operators manual for this vehicle.

If it's the Camping World in Nashville make sure the RV they are trying to sell you isn't a customer's unit that is in for service. They tried doing that to us on an Outlaw a few years ago. This is not an attempt at humor.

Wow!
I hope that somebody ended up wearing prison attire for that one!

Be polite during the purchase.
Run the awning 30 times, not just once.
Same with everything on the coach:
AC, heater, stove, drawers and doors.
Put a years worth of USE, NOT ABUSE, on everything you can touch.

18,000 miles isn't even warm up miles on it, and they're surprisingly speedy.
Vehicle wise you're fine, coach wise do as above and look for signs of child and cretin damage.
