A new older Vegas 24.1

Hi all,
I started lurking around this forum a couple years ago when my wife thought it would be a good idea to get a “cute“ Vegas. We looked at a few but I always thought it would be too small though I did like it. Fast forward two years, after going round and round considering this to Sprinter buildout to travel trailer to duality and fifth wheel. Too many RV shows, dealers and pamphlets! Thankfully over the years I’ve downsized my mindset, DW and I came to agreement and when I posted on the Facebook group that we were once again considering the Vegas, friends of ours who had one connected with us that they were selling theirs and a few weeks later we were proud owners of a 2017 24.1.

As my online name suggests, I’m a project junkie and professional remodeler with always too much to handle and less time. Thankfully, this rig came with every mod I would have wanted to do including solar, lithium battery bank, steering mods, lock changes, etc. and even a 4 down toad, all very well cared for. We couldn’t be happier and a couple weeks ago drove it back from Florida to Massachusetts, pandemic and all, and it went great. We knew right away that we had made the right decision. The best thing is that there was a sense of relief knowing that we didn’t have to keep looking and changing our minds as to what rig we would get and best of all, my wife can drive it should anything happen. Driving the manual tranny tow car, now that’s a different story.

For now we are “camped out” at home but plan on getting out soon. Retiring next year after 25 years as a business owner and plan on as much travel as we can. Needless to say my DW is so happy with the rig and also happy to add in a few “I told you so’s”. Once again I’m glad I listened to her!

I hope to be chiming in on the forum instead of just lurking as now, WE ARE OWNERS!!!

Ron and Barbara

Congratulations and welcome.

(Did you get Ed's manual? Sounds like you've been around a while so likely you have...)

Welcome to the forum! Someone here said we bought an RV "kit" and although yours is pretty well decked out, there is always more to do and spend. Heads up display? WiFi booster? Underneath lights? The possibilities are endless!

Oh yeah, always changing things and I’m sure our little rig will be no exception. Right now, we are just kinda living in it in the back yard but that ain’t half bad either.

Thanks Jamie, yes I got the manual and already been through it a few times. Of course I am on my way through the Vegas mod thread you started for the 2nd time. Lots to digest!
