Russ - here is your first heads up. Yep - you need a box of various sized plastic fastners and a few hollow wall fasteners that pull in from the back. Our coach history says these and a stick portable screwdriver are positively on your need to have list. After working around folks installing screws in a highly automated factory, I'll tell you if it can be over torqued - it will be. The over torque has the effect of stripping out the holes. Add to that the "jiggle" of driving your house down the road at 60+ MPH, lots of loose stuff.

We've had lots of the loose stuff in the last 35k+ miles.

Being well stocked, will make your coach much more enjoyable.

Again, beautiful coach - enjoy!

Hey Bigben, thank you for the heads up. Can you link me to those plastic fastners and hallow wall fastners? I'm more visual Thank you!

These are like the ones I carry. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt...2464/204273414

As well as a couple of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OHXA82G...a-318347048846.

Sometimes the plastic ones just won't do. The hollow wall/door anchors are a bit more difficult to use but they hold almost anything in place - like the fire extinguisher that get torn out.

Yep - got to be careful of all sorts of things when you drill. Consequently I rarely drill holes, most of the time I use the anchors to fix the ones that were stripped out. The anchors beat trying to simply use a bigger screw.

PS: Bob I loved the "tanks a lot" pic. As our signature indicates, I am retired US Army. What it doesn't say is that I am actually a retired Cavalryman/Tanker. We use to call those particular tanks - TARGETS. I grew up in the Army in the defense of Fulda Gap era. As best this old Cavalryman can remember, those are the T54/55 vintage. So I guess it is TARGETS a lot. Just saying.
:-)

Old Home Week. I had the distinct honor of having served on M551s aka Sheridans. Even got to sink one of the "swimmable" 19 ton aluminum cans. Gary Owen.

From an illustrious (tongue in cheek) Army career - 1992. From a second much less illustrious (but more profitable career), 2010. We've been vagabonds since then - logging more than 300,000 miles in the US and Canada since (huge SUV and now days in our Challenger). Still love the military family.

Tearstone,

Welcome to the Forum and RV'ing. We had problems the first 8 months, but things have been great the past 21 months.

Try Rain-X Water Repellent, it will help the wipers...but that is ONE BIG Windshield.

Doc

2 thumbs up on the Rain-X. Even have gone to use Rain-X windshield cleaner. Either way the bug cleanup gets way better and easier with a Rain-X product.

We so enjoy our coach and the time that we get with great friends and loving family. Hard to imagine our life without now. As most will say, the first year is a working the kinks out and learning what makes your home on wheels tick. Now days we realize, it just comes with running a house down the road at 65 MPH.

But the journey being the destination is worth every minute.

Thank you bigben

Newbie issue: I’ve emptied our black tank for the first time but there is still toilet paper visible inside the toilet past the flapper. Essentially, a clog. Is this a result of using the wrong toilet paper? We are using toilet paper that is “septic safe”. I even did the shake test on it as well.

Yep I dont put toilet paper in tank .Also I added jet washers in my tanks.i like them spotless. The number on mistake people do at camp ground is leave valve opened when hook to sewage.

Good solution about not putting toilet paper in the tank. Where do you put it instead, shopping bags?

I did not leave my black tank valve open.

I read in another thread that the issue might be a result of the black tank design. My toilet is on the psssenger side of the rig and the drain is on the drivers side. The toilet empties into the thinner portion of the wedge creating the pyramid effect in the tank. Don’t see any additional solutions other than using a lot of extra water and priming the tank with Calgon.

Tearstone,

I have the same coach and have had the toilet paper issue. We make sure there is a good amount of water in the bowl before using and flush to a count of 5. This method is not recommended for boondocking or where you have to use a dump station, but we rarely do either.
