New Thor Hurricane our First Motorhome

Hello I am Ted and just bought a new Thor Hurricane Motorhome. Not sure what to expect. Hopefully this works for myself and my wife. We would like to travel around our great country for the next few years. Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Greetings Ted. I too own a hurricane and love it. My advice would be to check every faucet, and waterline for that matter, for leaks. Our kitchen sink , water tank, and our shower faucet were all leaking. All simple fixes.

Hi Ted

Welcome. Glad you joined our group. There is a lot of helpful knowledge here just waiting for someone to ask for it. There are many modifications you can do to make it work for you while out on the road. Things rattle and become loose. It just comes with the territory of driving a home on wheels.

Enjoy the new lifestyle and freedom.

Paul

Welcome on board Ted.
I too got my first MH a month ago but we have being traveling all over this country with a travel trailer since 2016.
My piece of advice is:
1 - Get to know and understand how things works and what is the proper way to operate them.
2 - Keep "looking for trouble" - this is a moving/shaking "thing" so even when they are right at first they can become loose, etc.
3 - Establish a good relationship with a good dealer.
In 4 years and 28000 miles we never got stranded on the road and I credit the above for that.
Point 3 is crucial, just an example, after I bought this MH the dealer identified 42 items that needed to be fixed, several them simple but yet, those where items I didn't have to work on....
