New Windsport 34J Owner

Hi there,

I figured I'd introduce myself. We've been pulling a hybrid trailer for the last ten years and finally pulled the trigger on a Class A bunkhouse. We spent several years researching what our next "rig" would be but never really found what we wanted. When drop-down bunks in the front of Class A's started getting popular we started looking seriously here rather than at Class C's. After a year of shopping and dealing with dealership salespeople who didn't really know much about their product we found this lightly used 2018 34J that had been driven less than 1,000 miles by the original owner. Now it's home, we've done two weekend trips t work out the kinks and are really looking forward to years of fun travels with the kids and friends.

I've learned a ton from these forums, thanks to everyone who shares their wisdom here. It really makes it easier for new owners like us.

Cheers,
Peter

Welcome Peter! We have a 2018 34J as well. Just purchased new last month. Got a "deal" because it was last year's model and took our Forest River Blue Ridge 5th wheel in on trade. Did the from CHF on the front and added a SuperSteer Trac Bar in the rear. I could really feel the difference with less sawing at the steering wheel. Getting the Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer installed when I get the alignment at the local Ford Truck Shop May 22nd.

We have the same Coach...I picked mine cause it looks more like a bus that others. After looking at it on lot, it had a lot more to offer that other brands with same floor plan. Weight capability of overhead bunk, bunk beds, solid surface tops, nicer outdoor kitchen, paint scheme, etc...

Congrats on the new Ride...

After extensive research that sounds about what I think I'll do. I was originally going to do the Roadmaster front sway bar but I'm thinking that doing the CHF along with the Roadmaster Polyurethane bushing kit may be a better way to start on the front. Did you install the Supersteer yourself or have someone else do it? I'm pretty mechanically inclined but worry that without a full lift and high torque air tools I might get in over my head.

I'm getting the Ford dealership to do a front end alignment. Then have them install the Roadmaster Steering Stabilizer after the alignment.

I thought F53's already had poly bushings in the front?

If that's accurate then I'm glad for this forum as I'm always learning. I was under the impression that stock bushings were just rubber.

Now, the question is, if they are polyurethane, dos Ford add any silicon grease?
