Smile Newbie to this Forum

Hello and thank you for the add! We have a 2015 Axis 24.1 that we bought in May of 2016. Hubby, me, and our English Springer "Stan" have been in and around Colorado, but have never taken it any great distance. Now that I'm retiring on Feb. 28th, we are planning on taking off towards Florida as soon as we can get some things done to it: tire pressure monitor (like the semi drivers have), solar panel system to charge house batteries (we'll be doing a lot of boon docking), mounting a bike rack onto the ladder, etc. etc. Don't know when we'll be ready to leave, but looking forward to it!

How do I find any postings that address making good use of space such as the closet, the over-head cabinets, the empty wall behind the toilet, etc.?

Thanks again!

Congratulations on your soon-to-be retirement!
There's a "Search function" available in here: try giving it a spin: you never know what you might find!

Welcome to our little piece of the sandbox!

For $70 you can buy a sturdy two bicycle rack that fits in your hitch. I have one and it works well for me. As for extra space, I also have had a 24.1 for four years and I don’t remember anyone accessing spaces in the vehicle that are not being used. The storage is so good, that we did not really need extra even in our 4 month trip to Alaska. There is some storage in the water tank compartment, and you can put some soft things there. We use behind the couch for cushions, stepstools, etc that we use all the time. And, of course, there is storage in the drop down bed above the cab - especially if you have the blow up mattress. Other than that, most space is already being used for something.

One other thing, I built three shelves in the closet for our clothes. You can get a lot more in shelves than trying to hang things up. Two shelves a piece. That and the two drawers beneath the closet, two drawers between the beds and the compartments above the beds give you lots of room. And you always have Walmart.

Welcome and congrats on your retirement! There's still room for you in Florida, especially away from the coasts. If you are in the Brooksville, FL area the weekend of April 13, join our little Thor forum rally!

Some of us have learned that we can travel with less "stuff" than we previously thought. I take fewer tools than in past years. We both take much fewer clothes. We once lived in our fifth wheel for a year, and didn't miss most of the "stuff" we had in storage.

BTW, some new Axis or Vegas owners don't realize there is pass through storage between the two outside front storage cabinets. Perfect for a folding ladder, broom, etc. Some leave the mattress off the drop down bed use that for some flat things.
