Question Newbie to a Gemini 23TW - Inverter Question

Hello All,
Received our 2021 2 weeks ago
I know there is no inverter
What have others done to access 120 AC power
Possibly a 1000 watt cigarette plug in unit?
Or more significant upgrades with second battery and more solar?
Any comments appreciated
Thanks
Brad

A cigarette lighter outlet will not power a 1,000 watt inverter. A cigarette lighter is fused at 15 amps typically which is 200 watts at best.

Having said that I do use a 150 watt plug in inverter to power simple things like charging our hand held vacuum cleaner and e bike battery charger.

So far I haven't found any need for more.

I was thinking 1000 watts was about 9 amps?
Something wrong with my math
I wanting to run an 850 watt coffee maker

Your math is ok, but you are mixing up AC volts with DC volts. So yes, 1000 watts is about 9 amps AC. But you need 12V DC to run the inverter and it takes roughly 10 times the AC amps or 90 amps DC to supply 1000 watts. Way above what a cigarette lighter outlet can supply.

If you need more than about 150 watts then you probably need an inverter directly wired to your coach batteries.

Ahhh got it - the old AC - DC math mixup
Agree i need to hard wire to the battery a unit that has its own built in fuses
Suppose if I'm going to use the inverter a good bit i should twin the coach batteries
I think the battery that came with my unit is the old lead acid type - maybe should up grade to AGMs
