Newbie from Ohio
We just recently purchased our 2018 Freedom Elite 26HE. Unfortunately it is back in the shop less than two weeks after purchase for a faulty shower door top rod, crack in the clear door guard, a body scuff that was noticed at time of purchase at the dealer and an Axxera Chassis Radio that has a mind of its own, powering on and off on its own. Hoping to have it back by Labor Day weekend, but so far warranty approval and the CW Service department doesn't seem to be in a hurry to get anything done.

I don't think any of those would prevent me from camping. I simply refuse to let CW hijack my vehicle. When something needs fixing they know they have a day to get it repaired and I am bringing my RV home that day. If it were something major that might compromise safety then I might leave it. But if I can drive it there I expect to drive it home with repairs done. I will not leave my rig setting on CW parking lot while they wait for part. Just the way I try to get things done.

It has been my experience that Thor is willing to send warranty replacement parts directly to you if you ask them to and provide evidence of failure of the original. Of course then you have to make the repair yourself but it's quite often easier and more effective to do that instead of hassling with taking it to the dealer.

We got our Motorcoach back 28 days later and I ended up repairing two of the items myself. CW wasted our time.

Yup! An added benefit of doing repairs yourself is that you learn SO much about your machine. I'm finding that I enjoy fixing many things.

We purchased a four winds 26b late this past winter and had several problems. I was able to fix everything except the engine problem but local ford Truck dealer fixed the problem. I called thor directly and the sent me any parts I needed to repair the problems. All I had to do is send the old part back. They never hesitated to help out if I had any questions at all.

Welcome! Congratulations on your new coach. Be patient, the pleasure will eventually outweigh the pain. There are some crazy smart people on this forum.
