Their business model is to work through dealers...
Direct sales would potentially undercut the dealers - and hurt their dealer relationships - so they choose not to do that.

The same reason you cannot buy factory parts from Ford, GM or BMW. It is against the state laws dealing with franchisees. Since Tesla does not have franchised dealers, you cam buy parts directly from them.

Heartland, a fifth wheel manufacture will and does sell direct. I had a Big Horn and I did purchase direct. They seem to be the exception.

These are not motorized vehicles thus are not considered under the franchise laws (most motor vehicle franchise laws were enacted in the 1930's).

Michigan City Lighthouse? Looks familiar. Up to this winter DW and myself were snowbirds for the last 3 years. Always enjoyed it. Have fun, and be careful

That's why we shop on line for needed parts-the dealer markup is exorbitant; it pays to be good with your hands-repair everything that you can until you get the bugs worked out.

Their business license does not allow says direct to consumer for anything (RVs or parts). That is what I was told a few years ago when I had to talk to their parts department to get some bulb seal shipped under warranty. It was also confirmed by the customer service rep I talked to on numerous occasions.

Also, by not selling direct to consumers they do not have the requirement to collect sales taxes for all states that have a sales tax, since they sell in all states. By selling wholesale only the dealers have to collect and remit the sales taxes.

Originally thought it was St Joseph's... but both St Joseph's and Michigan City are 'range lights' with a jetty continuing to a second smaller light tower further out...
So now I'm not sure... lol
