Omni / Magnitude consideration for winter

Hi there! Live in West Virginia and considering the 4x4 Magnitude or Omni XG32 as hoping to use it for a XC trip next two summers, but also to do some winter skiing. I am worried about what it would take to get it to four-season standards for some weekend fun. Would be electric only .... any advice or comments would be great.

Suggest you read all the posts about the slide out and cab over structural issues with the Magnitude/Omni.

Thanks, I have seen some of them; but know there are a lot on the road without those issues as well. All the bad stories get overshadow all the people with no problems. If not an Omno or Magnitude, do you have other recommendations? Really think going to want to have the 4x4 and diesel.

For most any four season RV, if not all, you'll have to sink some serious bucks into fixing up to meet your specific standards.

We have the 2020 XG32 Magnitude, and we knew going in that it wasn't a 4-seasons. It was the great floor plan plus 4 wheel drive that we purchased. So, for the past fifteen months we've made a bunch of mods, upgrades, and even a few renovations....in hopes to chase 50 degrees to 40 or even less degrees of cold. My husband likes it chilly and I was born and raised in Alaska. Very much we want to go home someday to show my mom our dogs and cat, and home-on-wheels, Taj.

Right now we are living full time in the rig, but we're stuck in Florida.....prob'ly thru this coming winter it looks like, sigh. But we're very happy with the way everything is going and all the money we've sunk into making "Taj" cold worthy has been worth every dime.

If you are truly looking for a 4 season RV, this is not it. The Dynamax has a package that gets a little closer with their wilderness addition with more insulation, additional wet bay heaters and dual pane windows. The Omni/Magnitude has none of those and that would be the bare minimum for cold weather.

Plus, I was drawn in by the 4x4 on the side, and after driving it across the country in back, I don't think the 4x4 gets you much. The RV will weigh in at over 18k lbs, the tires will be lucky to get traction in ice/snow so 4x4 really doesn't do much as you would want to chain up in any conditions that is not just a light dusting. Would it do a good job getting you out of a wet grassy field, absolutely. Would I depend on the 4x4 to get me through snow / ice. Never without a good set of chains (or maybe all new tires specifically for off-road + snow).
