I suggest you measure instead of hope.

It sure sounds as if it'll be a trip full of memories and good times.
Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the ideas. I measured the bikes one is 7’5” the other 7’95” and that is with the front tires pointed straight. So if the units garage is a true 8’ they will be tight but will fit. How sturdy are the tie downs on the floor?

Welcome to the forum. Maybe you could call the dealer and have someone measure it.

Congratulations.

I’d worry more about weight than size. Thor specs show garage capacity at 1,000 pounds, and I’d guess your two soft tails exceed that by a significant amount.

Extra weight that far back will likely overload your rear tires and axle, and may unload front end enough to cause poor handling.

I don’t have first-hand experience but recall this subject coming up various times with these E-450 Toy Haulers when loaded down. You may want to search the forum for this issue.

I better get with Thor as I heard the max weight was 1,500 and the 2 bikes weigh 1,409 total. Looking now at the latest numbers they do show only 1,000????

You heard?

Cancel your order.
Or
There's a 90% chance the bikes won't be a good idea.
You'll own a new cardboard house and have no bikes with you when you use it.

I would not limit investigation just to garage capacity, but also to what’s left for other “stuff”. Even if garage was 1,500 pounds, what would be left for OCCC (Occupant and Cargo Carrying Capacity) beyond the bikes?

the older 29H model had the 1500 lb limit. The J limits you to 1000 lbs.
We carried our Spyder LT in our H. The problem? There was a lot less living space for us.
We now have a Sprinter-baswd C, and tow a 12' trailer with our Toad... Much more comfortable!
