New rv w lots of real issues

I have a 2018 Thor aria 3901. Nothing but head aches. Hoses for coolant to both coach and engine not tightened, water heater control panel bad on first trip. Seats not bolted to Flore. Electrical short to outdoor light because they put a screw through the wire. Water leak on fresh water tank. Cargo door latch broke away while traveling at 65mph resulting in cargo door opening now jack won’t retract. Have had to use mobile repair now 4x
Have found the response from seller sub par....... oh did I mention mirrors separated from Rv leaving it almost impossible to make a safe lane change. Thank god for duck tape.
Will be curious to see if Thor cares

Sorry to hear of your troubles
Suggest you call Thor Corp to register your issues
That way when the dealer does the warranty work, you will be on record
Document everythjng with dates and names of people talked to
Finally...be patient but hold people accountable and inspect everything going forward

Wow! I think your in the running for top new RV dissapointments!
All of our (2018 Palazzo 33.2) "not minors" were minor in comparison to yours.
1) Bad VGT controller
2) Generator flywheel bolts backed out
3) PCU recall causing no rear marker, brake or left turn lights.

Since you are not too far from the manufacturer I would take it carefully there. Maybe even with a friend driving an escort car. I think I would pull it up to one of the bays and park it there until they agreed to pull it in and fix it.

"Have found the response from seller sub par."

Take it back to Wakarusa for factory service. Call and make an appointment. They are unbelievable. Appointments are normally 2 months out but the trip is worth it. You don't need to park it in front of a service bay and start throwing swords. Service is all they do and they are very proud of their reputation.

Agreed: Call Thor and take it to factory service.

Going to service anywhere is like getting a Root Canal...but, once you experience the Wakarusa Service, you'll be so glad you did it. Start making a list of everything...even the smallest little things. They will want this when you make your appointment. This give them time to gather all the necessary parts and pieces before you arrive. They are quick and efficient and they know your RV very well. I'm very envious of how close you are to them. In addition to repairs, they also do a full-on inspection of everything on the coach as well as run it through the rain machine again. My personal experience with them was excellent...best choice..."Just Do It".

Kspell,
My sympathies. Been there on the "put a screw thru the wire". They seem to like doing that. The problem, of course, is finding exactly where the short is. Get a good RV mechanic and they'll find it in an hour or so. I really would like to go into a Thor factory and find out who is the monkey putting screws thru wires. Hmmm.

2018 Thor aria 3901 is a very nice coach! I really don't understand how a wonderful coach like this would be sent from the factory with so many problems.

I hope you receive the attention you deserve and that your issues are addressed quickly. Really makes me skittish of buying a new motor home when I see posts like this.

I'm sorry to hear that your new RV isn't what you had hoped for...
Please be patient, and tackle the issues. It will all turn out to be worth it!

Sounds like you bought a Thor motorhome and your experience is par for the course. Could you imagine the uproar if every time someone bought a Ford or Chevy they had to take it back to the factory for service.

Because it's a Thor and their build quality control is abhorrent.

We have a 2017 Thor Aria 3901 and had few issues like yours as well. Just not quite as many. One of the ways we rectified our. Coach issues was to have it completely inspected. After the inspection, we identified the issues that were covered by the warranty and had them corrected . We had a leak in hot water line from the water heater, leak behind the washer, inoperative dash AC Unit, loose right side rear view mirror. If you would like more insight on what we did to correct our unit just respond to this post and I will provide a contact number for you. Once you get your issue fixed you will truly enjoy your coach. We love ours but it didn’t come without a few challenges the beginning.

Good luck. If those are your only issues, then you ain’t seen nothing yet.
One of the most significant failures was the the slide beam over the couch, on my 3901, just fell off while traveling and almost killed my 73 yr. old uncle after it struck him in the head. It caused a huge bump, bruise, and blood running down his face.
I called to report this incident, and no one was remotely interested. Actually acted put out that I called them.
If I knew then what I knew now, I would have never bought a Thor product. Two years of ownership and still have issues. Thousands of dollars out of my pocket after warranty for “manufacturing” defects and horrible quality installation. My $5,000 extended warranty doesn’t begin to participate in my issues. I should have just got a Sea Ray and left the RV business to someone else.
