Thanks. Good advice. I am a big list maker. I am amazed at how much more things shift around than they do on a boat. But the road is bouncier. I already put everything in baskets. Do you leave anything out on your countertops? If so, how do you secure it?

Most of our stuff we secure before we leave the sight. On the night stands, where Janet tends to leave her cup of water, and other places we have a ribbed rubber pad that we put down, seems to keep it in place, We also put that pad where the dishes are stored, and where the spices are kept. We really need to get a spice rack... Some day

I also am a convert from the boating world (Carver 325). Pretty much the same things apply - other than you don't need life jackets, and the gas mileage will be better.

To keep stuff from bouncing around too much, pack the heavy stuff low.

I used nonskid inside all the cabinets and between the dishes to cut down the noise. I have two small rectangular cutlery trays (3x12) for my spices. They had rubber feet and have not moved at all so far. Of course we are on the highway so it is mostly straight driving. Everything's else is stowed. I used to silicone things i wanted to stay in place on the boat like lamps. It worked great. Even in heavy seas offshore, the lamps never budged. I will probably do that in the rv as well. Just not sure what I need where yet.

Spice rack

My husband mounted a magnetic stainless steel plate on the wall and I have a lot of little glass spice jars with magnetic lids. It works great! The spices don't slide around and the magnetic jars always stay in place. I have stickers on the bottoms of the jars with the names of the spices. And, since the jars lids are the magnetic part, thats the best place for labels.

Hi Debbie!
Where is your first long trip going to take you?
Welcome to the forum, and keep asking lots of question!
Try to keep some sort of "Camper's Log" of each trip. Write down something each day: even if it's just the weather, and what you guys had for your meals.

If nothing else: it'll help with creating some GREAT memories!

My DW took her Mom's approach. She uses Museum wax/gel to hold things in place. Works really nice! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FJU290...528982461&sr=1
