Newbie getting my Fourwinds 23U ready to retire on the road

I am looking for a hard copy (not ebook) of a good beginners guide to RVing. I want to be able to write all over it - not have to look it up each time. Does anyone have a suggestion?

You know you can print an "ebook" don't you? If you take the PDF to Officedepot (or similar) they can even print and bind it for you or print it on 3 hole punched paper so you can put it in a notebook.

Ed's manual would be great for that. Although written for a the AXIS/VEGA coaches your coach has all the same systems and many of the exact same parts.

Beginners Guide

Can you tell me the name of Ed's book? Yes, I know I can print it.

I now have another questions - my tires are 5 years old. The dealer that sold me the RV in October said the tires are ok. I want to drive this from St. Louis to San Diego and don't want to worry about a blowout on the way. Where is the best place to buy tires for this RV?

Any dry rot on the sidewalls? The tread getting thin?
In my opinion running overloaded is a bigger threat to the possibility of blow out than the age of the tires. Running at under or over pressures will also increase your chances of blowing tires. Aside from road hazards, excess heat in the tires is the number one cause of tire failure. Over loading or improper inflation will cause excess heat. As someone that worked in the auto industry, (a Chrysler NIASE double gear certified tech early 70’s) long ago I’m not a firm believer in the tire mfgrs expiration dates. There is no way we would have told owners to replace tires based on tire age if sidewall and tread were in good shape. On my last MH we ran the tires for 9 years 40,000 before the sidewalls started to show signs of aging. We rotated the tires every season, kept covered and treated sidewalls every year with preservative. Now you will hear the liability if you blow an outdated tire arguments. Me I am too old to worry about what if’s. Above is my opinion and we all know what opinions are like

As said above. That's a man who sees marketing as marketing.

Some people here would have their rv towed in if they went over 3,000 on an oil change, would take the back seat out of a towed to make the 30lbs difference and open a door so their slide doesn't create a vacuum when activated. Of COURSE they're going to believe the marketing the tire company does.

Only you can decide.
Take it to TWO or THREE professional Shops and ask them their opinion, then form YOUR opinion.

It's good you asked and it's a very reasonable question.
You seem capable of sorting 'reasonable' from 'marketing' suggestions.

TPMS are available on amazon for 40ish to 700ish bucks.
My 44 buck unit works as well as my 500 buck unit.

They say don't do use them because of the different type of air in an rv tire.
I've converted my rv tires over to car tire air just like they use in an E450 van.

The one you linked only goes to 50 psi, some of the as high as 87 psi. My class A uses 95 psi.
