RV Adventure

Hi there,
We have a Thor FE 22 2017 E450 with a bed slide. New to the RV world and enjoying getting used to RV Life. Planning a big adventure next year. We base out of Brevard County, Fl. I look forward hearing your tips and perspective of the lifestyle

Hi and welcome!
Read forums and take notes. There are a bunch of systems that are somewhat like a house but most have a difference that there is a learning curve to RV'ing. And you will need to fix something on your brand-new expensive RV. Several somethings maybe.

When you find something that makes RV'ing easier get it. For instance a sewer hose wrench. Sure you have big man hands, but that wrench is nice to have.

Our first RV was a camper in 1976 and loved the outdoors. It is a great lifestyle!
- Get a good tire pressure gauge and check tires weekly when on the road.
- Learn how to fix minor things when on the road. It seems like Thor customer service is competent. When in campgrounds, many folks will lend a hand if needed.
- Learn what to do or how to push the slide-out in if the mechanism fails.

This is a great county with lots to see and experience. Consider a road trip to Alaska.
Enjoy the journey and take your time.

Hello,
Welcome to the Forum and to the RV lifestyle.

Here are our initial tips:
1 - You are traveling, it is not a race so don't add stress upon yourself and others because of timing and schedules... If you where planning to leave @ 3pm and it is already 4pm and you haven't left, don't stress, just replan the overnight - YOU ARE TRAVELING
2 - Learn to park the rig by yourself. You and your spouse may have very different views on how to maneuver the rig and starting an argument when you just arrived is not the way to go - YOU ARE TRAVELING.
3 - Almost always distance is way more worth than time, so drive at speed you feel comfortable - YOU ARE TRAVELING
4 - Learn how your MH works and how to make the maintenance yourself. Do preventive maintenance yourself and you will avoid a lot of irritation.

Wish you the best!

2022 Thor Sunshine Fall Rally Thread

Search for the "2022 Thor Sunshine Fall Rally" for all the details. They are great meet ups. Unfortunately I usually have standing conflicts for the fall and spring rallies so I haven't made it in a few years.
I too live in Brevard County, and have had many camping adventures. Most of them good.

Hope you have an awesome adventure, and report back to us.
