Still looking

Hi. We are thinking of a Thor at some point. I’m a little bit handicapped as far as steps go and balance etc. old people’s issues. Lol

Can anyone please answer the following questions.

Does the front passenger seat pivot on any of the models. I need to have one that does.

How big are the showers?

Is their a step up to the toilet?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Forum!
Pivoting seats are readily available across Thor's model line-up...
Which models are you looking at?
(It might be easier to climb up into a Class C...)
Shower sizes vary by quite a lot... If you go to Thor's website: you should be able to get an idea of which models have the larger ones...
(Usually: it'll be the Class A rigs.)
A step up to the toilet?
That's a good question!
Our 29-H Outlaw didn't have one... but a lot of models do. It might be dependent upon where the toilet is located, in relation to the Black tank...
Good luck, and Happy Shopping!

Welcome. You’ve have come to a special place with some awesome folks.

My Axis has pivoting cockpit seats. You might consider this model.

The shower is big enough for my 6’1” 215 lbs body.

No step up to the toilet.

We have a Hurricane 35M, drivers seat pivots, shower is big enough for my 6'2" body although I have to step up into the shower and no step to the toilets. I did have to add a rail at the entrance as I'm disabled too and I've added a few hand holds around the coach to assist my moving throughout.

An rv has MANY other physical demands you will have to overcome.
Hooking up the sewer hose and draining tanks is by NO MEANS an upright propasal and requires many alternate minutes of standing and squatting and reaching far while stooped over.

The city water hose is a wrestling match at often knee level or less.
Getting bugs off the windshield is hard on a class c, maybe impossible on a class a.
One battery problem and you're flat on your back in the dirt.
The storage hatches are deep, depending on the rv model the microwave is stupidly high or stupidly low.
The fuse system is all but unreachable.

These are the things that you can't hire someone to do and are daily occurance.

Welcome to the forum. You've been given some great suggestions. I think you'll just have to start looking and then make your decision.

I'm disabled and needed a little help getting in and out of our coach. So I added a rail behind the passenger seat which helps both DW and I. Click image for larger version

I’m 74 with a Vegas or Axis since 2014 and it’s not all that hard. I put in a Clean Dump waste system and you pull out a garden hose that is permanently attached, pull up the handle and flip the switch. Two handles up and down and store the hose and you are done. I never use city water so filling up the water tank is connecting a water hose and sitting down. In six years, I have never been “under the battery box”. For the “deep storage hatch” in the Axis I have storage boxes that slide easily in and out. My wife and I have over over 100,000 miles on RVs with several trips from Florida to Alaska and multiple trips out west and to Canada meeting tons of wonderful people who we will remember for the rest of our lives.
Go for it.There are lots of people willing to help and lots of modifications to make things easier. I have a membership in EA+ and if my wife or I have a medical issue, they will fly us home for free on a private plane if necessary and hire someone to drive our RV home. There are thousands of us out there “doing it”. Join us and you won’t regret it.

Welcome pnwretired and happy shopping for the RV that fits your family the best.

Pmorris.....I have asked the DH about installing another handrail but he is concerned about putting screws in and not knowing if he might hit a wire. How did you know where you could mount the handrail?

Figured the floor was safe and the wall had a fire extinguisher that I moved.
