Thor Chateau 24HL diesel
We have our first new motor home. Please tell me anything I should know! And specifically; do I need a fantastic fan and where's the best place to put it? Going to sign papers and pick up tomorrow. What is your advice on the warranties? See ya out there someday

Change the oil around 5,000 to get rid of the debris in the engine. Only use the correct oil, available on Amazon and often on sale at NAPA.
Keep the RPM's below 3400 and the engine will do better. Use your gears.
Keep a look out for high winds, they can really move the Sprinter/Four Winds around.
Use the diesel generator, if you have one, and figure out what the fuel tank level is when your generator runs out of fuel should be approximately 1/4 tank.
We like our Thor Four Winds 24HL
We added a Fantastic Fan in the bath and will probably add another in the bedroom.
Good luck

Don't be too quick adding things until you get at least a couple short trips. My last 5th wheel had three Fantastic fans and I loved them. My 1 year old motor home has a MAXFAN that came with the Thor and it is every bit as good as the Fantastic fan. I would recommend investing a few dollars in a fan cover so you can use the fan in any weather. As far as warranties, that is to personal for me to comment on and my DW would tell you I am wrong.
Congrats on the new rig.
PS. Do a thorough PDI. Video it if possible.

Did the O.P. ever stop back, and let us know how things are going?

I agree with Mountainsam about the Fantastic Fan hood. Also, you might look at investigating a Scangauge II to monitor your engine. There may be other OBDII readers out there but the Scangauge II was what I have.
Inspect the roof soon and often. I don't know if Thor still has this in their paperwork but my membrane roof had a shorter factory warranty and it required visual inspection at very short intervals. I found some problems and I fixed some but had my dealer handle the rest.
Purchase a good quality surge suppressor. Progressive Dynamics has a very good product.
Use all the appliances and systems now rather than later and make a detailed list of deficiencies/problems; and take photos.
Enjoy your investment and let us know how things are going.

Sounds like today is the delivery date so I am sure he is in the process of discovery.
