Greetings from sunny AZ

Greetings from sunny AZ. Just purchased a 2016 Thor Four Winds 28Z. Having just retired, me and my bride wanted to some travelling between states to visit friends and family.

Looking for any info, hints, tips, advice on this model or what we might need. The motorhome did not come with any manuals, and I have started some downloads from the motor coach website. We definitely need to replace the sofa and dinette cushions, so any advice on where to locate affordable new or used cushions / sofa would be appreciated. Or if anyone can share maybe how they did it themselves, or replaced the sofa with some other type of furniture would be greatly appreciated.

First time RV people and it will mostly be used to travel from point A to point B. Not so much looking to go to RV parks or extended camping. The wife has medical issues that made driving from AZ to ND tedious, having to stop every 90 minutes or so, to having to get a motel every 6 hours so she could lay down comfortably.

We hope this motor home will allow her to stand, walk or lay down as needed while continue to drive. Thoughts? Advice? Thanks one and all in advance.

Welcome to the board! This place is invaluable for getting help and advice.

I'm no where near the seasoned pros here, but my advice would be to take it slow to come up to speed..... and you'll figure everything out faster then you thought.

Welcome to the forum. As you go along and questions pop up, just ask them here and someone will help out answering it or point you in the right direction. As far as the cushions you mentioned, a good upholstery shop should be able to help you out making replacement ones.

Welcome from a fellow AZ'er. Congrats on the new purchase, it should certainly make your point A to B travels more convenient and comfortable. You will be running your A/C and generator often while underway here in the Southwest so make sure the generator has fresh oil and is in good working order. Enjoy the ride!

If you're somewhat of a handyman you should be good as with a 6-7 year old rv most of the major bugs should've been worked out by now. However it is a house on wheels enduring earthquake like conditions on our wonderful highway systems so there will always be something to tend to.
I'm assuming it's the Ford V10 chassis, if so have a good high limit credit card & stay close to gas stations, that thing will pass everything on the highway but a gas station.
