Thor Omni 6.7 diesel

Hello
I’m about to purchase a new Thor Omni 6.7 diesel 4+4. My flat tow load will be about 7000lbs. Will it handle it in the mountains.

Thanks Mark

I can't answer your question, but welcome to the forum. I'm sure someone else will be able to.

Never had any issues towing my 43 fot loaded Landmark with my F350 or F550 up the passes

No issues descending either with TH engaged

Around 27k weight (F350) so close to what you will be

Very strong engine

I have the same model (2021 Thor Mag SV34 w 6.7 diesel 4+4, 10 spd trans) and flat tow a 5,000lb Jeep. I run 65 Mph with the cruise on, the 6.7 with the 10 spd transmission climbs mountain passes without issue. Occasionally it will downshift a few gears but just keeps cruising. Its very rare that I need to kick the cruise off and then only for a short while. Downhill is a pleasure as well with the engine brake on it will hold you back nicely on steep downgrades. I believe the extra 2,000lbs you plan on towing will have minimal effect.

Keep your eyes on the toad...you will not even know it's back there. That engine is a bull. I tow an XT5 on aluminum car hauler with extra junk on the trailer...around 7,000#. Never been any issues with reserve power.

Ours is a touch older and it pulls our 30 offshore boat better then our truck does.
The boat, trailer and fuel are a touch over 7000 lbs.
You shouldnt have an issue.
