Tv and hinges
Hello 😎
Anyone know how we can make the tv work while driving? I hear it's an easy fix .
Going to Big Bend soon and want to watch tv on the long drive.
Anyone having to replace the crappy plastic door hinges that keep breaking ?
Happy Travels::::

Does the Axis come with an inverter? If not, that is what you need to start researching. Driving down the road, you will power your TV from your batteries through the inverter. There are a million threads on here for inverters and batteries. Best of luck.

No inverter on any Axis/Vegas unit. This was a topic of discussion about a month back: newer units seem to disable the TV while in motion (ours does not).

Yes...ours must be on shore power for TV. We do not have anyone in our rv
who wants to watch tv while on the road, so it is not an issue for us.

Have you tried to run the generator and drive to see if it works?
Sorry if that is a really stupid question for some reason. I'm pretty new here and just bought a 2016 Challenger. The tv works just fine when driving if the generator is on. I'm looking into inverters to run more of the house as I type.

The televisions in your Challenger should be connected into the installed inverter and thereby operate when disconnected with the inverter on.
As mentioned depending on where the TV is installed in the coach there may be a cut-off (safety switch) installed that prevents the television from coming on while the vehicle is in motion. Most of the safety systems are wired into the ignition or parking brake. In a previous post I attached the link to the various state laws concerning this topic.

Ok, that is something I need to check into. Even when parked my TV does not work off of the inverter. I thought it only ran the refrigerator, But the little display by the door for the inverter is not working right so maybe the switch is not working right.

FWIW,
I just walked out to the coach and on the way I turned off the shore power breaker in the garage. Before exercising the generator I turned on my inverter and checked the system. With my inverter on the refrigerator, all 3 televisions, HDMI switch, DVD player and soundbar all operate.

Big difference between Xantrex 1800 and Xantrex Pro 1800. One is sine wave and the other pure sine wave.
As for the original question, I would recommend contacting Thor and receiving a copy of your coach 110/12v layout. It will show you where everything is connected and if you do have an inverter, it will show you which plugs are connected to it. I have attached the 110/12v layout for the Challenger 37LX as an example.

Actually the Xantrex ProSine is pure sine while the Xantrex Pro 1800, which is installed on the Challengers, is modified sine wave.

Dave, So, I didn't want to disagree with you until I had double verification. I just got off the phone with Xantrex and confirmed that the 2016-2017 Challengers are stocked with ProSine Wave. The actual model is difficult to see by the battery connect so Xantrex color-coded them differently. If you have a all Yellow Xantrex, is is a ProSine. If you have a gray one, it is modified sine.
Power Inverter | Pure Sine Wave Inverters | Marine Inverter
Here is a picture of a Xantrex from a 2017 Challenger 37KT. I also saw the same inverter in all the 2016 models I viewed over the last 6 months.

No argument from me and I'm glad to see they made the change and started using the pure sine (ProSine) inverter instead of the modified sine (Xantrex Pro).
