uncomfortable sofa
Hey...we are new to the class A type motorhome. We got a 34 ft Thor Hurricane and are learning lots of things. One thing is: WHY is the sofa so uncomfortable ?? we had a smaller RV and removed the jack-knife sofa and put in double recliners! MUCH better. We traded up to the larger motor coach and thought the sleeper sofa would be more comfortable !!!WRONG!! Can we remove this sofa and replace with another double recliner? Is it more difficult than removing the jack-knife ( which wasn't hard at all). If anyone has done this, let us know ....thanks and happy camping

It depends on what is hiding under the sofa.

I agree: some investigatory work with a flashlight will be needed...
But welcome to the forum, and good luck with this project!

I have owned a furniture manufacturing plant in High Point Nc for 30 years - thors upholstery is substandard -foam is lowest grade and covers have no uv protection but believe it or not frame quality is pretty decent We disassembled our sleeper and redid with high quality foam and sti revolution stain resistant fabric(made in usa)reversible cushions so we could unzip and wash and it is quite comfortable easy for us but not a diy project . The sleeper comes out in pieces not too difficult I thing inside was 3 pieces then the arms last

Thanks for the feedback. We're going to do it...will post pictures. The reason it is sooooo uncomfortable is that it sits straight up, NO footrest ( that's the biggy), and we don't need the extra bed.

We're planning on taking out our sofa, and replacing it with two recliners this Winter.
They weren't available in 2019 for our RV, but are now...

Is there a way for members to advertise in here?

We have the theater seating with console and couch/bed on the other side of the living area. We typically set in the theater seating due to the leg rest and to watch TV without bending our necks.
Not as comfortable as home but decent by RV standards for sure
Apparently they put different levels in different RV's?
I know many of the brands use the same furniture suppliers in a given price point
I have sat in some on display at Camping World and thought they were OK, always an option as are other RV suppliers

As stated in the rules a Vendor Account must be established. It is in the rules extract posted earlier.

Mine had a flexible hose that was the washer drain plumbing going behind the closet. Remove that and plug the hole to the grey tank. Rec pro double recliner fit in had to make a box for left side to cover wires and plumbing. Love new double recliners.

Full agreement of the horrible seating. Our first long trip out, and I'm longing for just one comfortable place to sit. The jack-knife sofa in our Magnitude is absolutely horrible, and the cushions for the dinette are so soft after a few sits that we're already hitting wood. I asked about switching out for the factory theater seats, which are a little better, but was quoted $2400 to do it and nearly choked on my own tongue It's either getting reconfigured with recliners where the dinette is, and a televator/flipup table/folding chairs where the sofa is, or traded off.
