Smile Good Morning

Just joined the THOR FORUMS - Looking forward to contributing to the materail in a positive way.

We purchased a 2018 THOR Windsport at the end of 2017 with the hopes of making RV'ing a positive part of our retirement. The journey to date has been a bit bumpy. We have had three major and costly service events in the 3 years we have owned the motorhome. We really enjoy the Windsport's layout and features, however, we are finding the manufacturing workmanship to be quite poor, and the source of these three major service events. Unfortunately, the ESP we purchased has failed to cover many of these costs. We are also finding that the company we purchased the unit from seems incapable of providing timely and quality service/maintenance. Sorry for venting.

I am hoping the FORUM will be a source of information that will help me perform much of the annual maintenance and repairs on my own. As I learn, I will be happy to share in a positive manner.

We absolutely enjoy traveling by motorhome and look forward to more in the years to come!

John

Welcome to the campfire. You're finding that any RV is going to be a work in progress and that most everyone finds things that were not assembled or maintained properly by Thor or the prior owner. Do not hesitate to ask your questions as this group has a vast amount of knowledge to pass along and few problems are unique to what you will find needing repair. Again, welcome.

Hi John,
Welcome to our campfire. Pull up a chair, and grab some marshmallow sticks!
Build quality has always been (and probably will always be) an issue.
But hang in there: the journey is worth it!

Also regardless of make, model, brand or price they are an 8.0 earthquake rolling down our wonderful highways, there will ALWAYS be something to repair/replace.

Unless you tell us what went wrong, how it was righted and why you go to an rv dealer fro repairs instead of an independent professional, we can't help you much.

Your next debacle, correctly detailed to us, can probably/possibly/historically be easily cured with a group grope from many people here.

Your esp is cancellable. They'll refund the differential of time or miles to your lender first, then to you.
It doesn't matter how much the esp has paid out. You get the time/miles difference as cash.

Most always the 8.0 is do to the high quality of the road maintenance. Love the repaired road transitions! +/- three inches in some states.
