Lead on! Travel as long as you safely can.
As to the doghouse, you didn't say what year your Vegas is. Ours is a 2016, and our doghouse was well insulated from the factory. When the engine screams up a long steep hill, I hear more noise through the dash. On downhills and level roads, the noise level is acceptable, IMHO.
No green bananas? An older friend would say he wouldn't buy a six pack for the same reason!

Update: traded in the 2018 Vegas 25.3 for a Thor Quantum Class C KW29. Just easier. And it has safety air bags, accessible tank fittings, steers easier ... too old to mess with stuff. Just want to go with kids and grand kids without all the hassle.

So, we are on our shake down run and it’s apparent we need front sway bars, sumo springs, insulation under the dog house, better seats and an extension to fit on the black tank because Richard has arthritis in his hands.

Any suggestions on any of those things?

Thanks in advance. Please answer sooner rather than later... we are at the ages where we don’t buy green bananas... however, they did gave us a twenty year loan. Go figure.
How is it apparent that you need “it’s apparent we need front sway bars, sumo springs“? What symptoms are you having? Better seats and a modification to make draining the tanks I get. It would just SUCK for you to spend that money just to find out it was a bad tire or an unbalanced tire or a bent rim. Who knows as the symptoms have not been explained. But maybe you or your husband have a mechanical back round and know for sure. Either way, welcome back to the road. Life is an adventure.

Look at the post above yours. They "resolved" their Vegas issues; all of them.

You have to love the fact that he takes care of his issues Quickly & Permanently.
Since his New Unit is 4 foot longer.

The only item I can suggest him to purchase now is. Walkie Talkies for parking safety.

We are so happy we have jumped... all done wringing our hands. The length of the Quantum KW29 is 31 feet... and 30k more... what the heck, it’s only money... and they gave us a twenty year loan...again. Haaa

Thanks for the morning chuckle. I'm going to remember that one.

Write it down...

The memory is the second thing to go, and I've already forgotten what the first one was.

Update: in light of the fact that we discovered (in this Forum) there are no front safety airbags in the Vegas and Dick’s age and thumb arthritis came into play when trying to hook up the black hose (that’s under and inset) ... and the seats were miserable...we took a ten thousand dollar bath and traded for a Thor Quantum Class C KW29... it has two A/c’s, two slides, much better seats, a king sized bed and most importantly, two front safety air bags. Cross your fingers... and, they gave us another 20 year loan... haaa.

Good for you! There certainly is a learning curve to these things! We only had our freedom elite for 7 months before trading it in on a bigger class A. We like it much better. Haven’t had any mechanical issues (to speak of) with either, just learned more about what we want in an RV. We took about a $12,000 bath but figured the Freedom Elite would never be worth more than it was at that moment and we are too old to live with avoidable compromises. Sort of that green banana thing. Enjoy your new rig and your adventures with your grandchildren. Such a blessing to be able to do that!
