air in water system

did my first trip this week. On first day lost water pressure. Could hear pump running with kitchen faucet on as pump is located under sink. I bought a spare pump when I bought the trailer . Before I went to change pump and tried it again and had pressure, but after a few minutes was still a lot of air in system. So today I decided to put in new pump to see if that changed anything, nothing change still air in system. I even opened up the relief valve on hot water tank to get air out of it, still no change. any ideas what to check?

The pump is sucking air in on the suction side. Check fittings between the pump and the water tank. Verify all drains are closed fully. Verify the strainer dome is screwed on tightly.

Noticed on hose from tank to pump had two connections on it. One was at a diverter valve for winterization hose and then where the elbow swivel fitting is, that connects to inlet filter. That hose would spin around on both fittings. They have crimp type clamps on them. I'm going to swap out those clamps to radiator hose type clamps. Filter housing is tight, seal is good and no cracks. Do you think that's where it could be sucking air in? thanks for your idea.

Can you.post a picture of the water line(s) leading directly off the tank? There has to be a valve in the wrong position or your winterize input is open.

Change out clamps on inlet hose. Removed inlet filter and turned-on pump. no air and pump shut of when faucets closed. Decided to put old pump back in to see what happens. Once installed with out inlet filter, no air and pump worked fine. Installed inlet filter and got air back in system and pump wouldn't shut off, it would slow down put not shut off. tried adjusting pressure regulator set screw, couldn't get pump to shut off. Put adjustment screw back to original position. Couldn't find any cracks in housing or bowl. Seal seemed okay, but there's something wrong with it. Ordered new filter. Thanks for all the help.

I just experienced the same thing, I have a 4 way Kantleak valve and the pump was sucking air through it, I put a plug in the inlet connection to check it!
