Water leak

I just have a question. I am new to this. I have a water leak in the T that connects the 3 lines. Under my pantry. One goes up one goes down through the floor and the other looks like it goes to the water heater. My question is do I need special clamps to replace the T. It looks like someone has tried to fix it with a regular hose clamp. But that's where it is leaking from.

That'a a simple fix to replace that T if you have the crimping tool. You can pick up the tool with crimp rings on Amazon and the T is available at any big box hardware store (get the brass one if they have it, 1/2 inch PEX).

Here's the to0l and rings ($30):

Eyeball the t fitting and make sure it didn’t split during a freeze.

Yeah, no tools: because the price of the fittings would cover the cost of the above tool.

Sharkbites are great for emergency repairs but for the above PEX getting the tool to have on hand for future problems/mods is the way to go.

Shark bite fittings are good in tight spaces and are reusable, just giving options not trying to convince you what to use.

Here's my take on push fittings. They are fantastic for "non moving" installations - like residential. I used them for my RO system at home. That said, I would only use them in a rolling earthquake RV in an emergency, not a permanent fix. First opportunity I would replace with clamped fittings.

Just my opinion about appropriate use.

I've had SharkBite fittings in my coach for over 3 years and almost 20,000 miles without a single leak.... and roads so rough it caused Thor's feeble repair of my front cap attachment to fail again.

I used SharkBites when I changed the plumbing in my coach so I could fill the fresh water tank from the city water port. I also installed a SharkBite Pressure Gauge so I could check the water pressure inside the coach to make sure my regulator was working properly... the fresh water pump was working properly.... and to verify there are no water leaks that I am not seeing.

They are expensive but they are very easy and work very well.

We've got the tankless water heater so I installed the shower miser valve with pex pipe and shark bite fittings 4yrs ago and 20,000 miles no leaks. The connections in the narrow wall behind shower controls and on top of the fresh water tank would have been impossible to use a crimp tool.
