I am not a very good handy man so I bought a 6 year warranty for 3500. So far this is what I had done.

1. Water lines were crimping when slide went out and shut down my water. Replacement of water lines. My cost $100.
2. Replacement of my electric cord for shore power, motor for awning and replacement of AC which I upgraded to 15000 BTU. My cost 550 which included my 100 deductible, shipping cost and upgrade.
3. Water pump replacement. My cost 100.

It has worked out for me.

Just some info, no emotions:

Some/many states(maybe 3ven federal law now) allow for you to cancel your warranty at anytime and get the unused portion paid back, first to the lender if you have a lien, or directly to you if you don't have a lien.

If you keep a six year/36,000 warranty for 3 years and 18,000 miles you get half back, NO MATTER IF THE COMPANY PAID OUT $30,000 IN CLAIMS.

Have it one month, get 35/36ths back.

Miles or months/days, whichever favors the warranty company.

REMEMBER THIS ON YOUR NEXT TRADE IN. You can cancel whatever is left on your warranty and get a check back when you trade in or sell the vehicle.

So those unsure of a $6,000 warranty can make it a $1,500 warranty if they feel secure enough.

Just like everything else in life:
If you have a sudden $12,000 to throw at a suddenly thrown piston, don't buy the warranty.
If all you can contribute to the catastrophic is $100monthly(a 60 month warranty at a $6,000 cost) buy the warranty.

$100 a month is peace of mind. (and it's probably closer to $50per month)

My experience.
We bought a used coach got the tires covered and the extended warranty with $100 deductible. 1st week sidewall cut on outer duelly. No cost to me. 1st month power awning broke my cost $100. 2nd month power step took a crap my cost $100. I could have fixed either of the last 2 issues myself but I couldn’t touch the parts for 200. If I had bought the coach new I more than likely would not have purchased the warranty, just rims and tires. A used coach IMHO an extended warranty is piece of mind.
As an aside our last coach the trans took a dump in Butte Mt. Out of pocket over $6000 to have rebuilt trans installed. Under my current warranty $100. Yes extended warranty is expensive. Read the fine print on what is covered and then determine what will make your travels stress free. My .02. Mark

Factory warranty does not cover you when your at the camp ground and need some one to come out....

Its up to you to find some one.

Factory warranty covers you once you have some one... A dealer.. That is auhorized to to do the work

So for peace of mind.
1. Tire ... Yes it not like changing a car tire
2. Roadside just in case you need rv mechanic and dont have a list of authorized mechanics in your area since your camping.

3. Warranty... Moving big house on auto frame will need repairs. U can do them your self. But thor does not send parts direct. You have to buy from dealer.

So unless your an evil rv genious.. Yes it is worth it.

Read the wheel and tire replacement over carefully. Some say it only replace the above items only if you hit a pot hole. Not blow outs
