We got ours but got hosed..... I just had my 2019 taxes filled last night. They went off our 2018 tax return and only got $500 because we were over the AGI limit for the full $2400. If they go off our 2019 tax return, we would get the full $2400.

I called my CPA and he was shocked I got it so fast because they were supposed to send out the lower income brackets first. He said he read that we would be able to get the rest of it back next year as part of a refund on our 2020 taxes when we file them.

Mine came overnight. BTW, it’s not a “Stimulus” check (that was Mr. Obama’s program). This one is a “Relief” check (Mr. Trump’s program) to offset losses associated with shutting down the economy. There’s supposed to be a difference, lol! I will use mine to inch closer to paying off my motorhome. Should be a bit over 4 years left to go!!

Got my Donnie Dollars today also. Was going to put new tires on the trailer but just found out a few minutes ago, TN State parks are closed indefinitely guess I don’t need new tires if I camp in the driveway

It's more of an anti stimulus check.
Saving $2- 3 thousand a month by not doing anything, not to mention the $5,000 not spent, due to the cancellation of our spring trip.

Definitely amped up our donations to charities this year.

Ours will more than likely be used to help our grandson and his wife pay their mortgage for a cpl months. He doesn’t want the help but it kills us to see them struggle.

I think it's called Government Efficiency?
Or maybe just a new form of Welfare.

The next stimulus package they are looking to raise it to $2,000 a month for up to 6 months.

"calls for every American age 16 and older making less than $130,000 annually to receive at least $2,000 per month for at least six months. Married couples earning less than $260,000 would receive at least $4,000 per month. The payments would continue until employment returns to pre-coronavirus levels."

I kinda feel the same way. Why are we and many others like us or in a better financial shape than us receiving checks? I guess, one answer, how would government know whether you need a check or not. Or there is the I want mine, whether I need it or not group. IDK maybe they should have given stimulus to people that actually lost jobs.
These are unprecedented times in the history of our country. ( biggest understatement of the day) Nothing to compare the unemployed numbers to since the Depression. Roosevelt put in public works programs to get people back to work.
Not saying we need to go to those measures, but there are lots of things that need doing around our communities that could be done to help earn that check. For those that are physically capable, roadways need trash picked up or Our parks need maintenance like paint or clean up.
Our government threw this out there fast as people were in need now, but $1200 isn’t going to go far. More”stimulus” is probably coming down the pike. Maybe going forward our communities can get a little bang for the buck. Just a few thoughts

That's something that I wondered about. Why is everyone or most everyone getting a check?
There are a lot of people that are financial stable even during the virus and market meltdown. And the government/IRS does know how much we make.

They're sending out this money in the hopes that we'll spend it, and get the economy moving again.
