AXIS or Vegas…what is the difference?

Hi all, I am ready to jump into the RV world for the first time and have a couple of questions for the community. I settled on a Thor and have been looking at the Axis, Citation and A.C.E. I decided on the Axis 24.1 until I learned (online) about the Vegas but honestly, other than the outside look and color options, I can't see a difference between these two models. What am I missing?

Thanks and sorry in advance for the silly questions I am sure to post after I buy.

Essentially the same thing, but with different styling details such as light fixtures, front grill, color, and fabric options.

Thor also did it with the Windsport and Hurricane models.

Thanks. I was making myself crazy trying to figure it out.

The Vegas exterior colors are lighter. I've noticed in my Axis that the darker exterior adds to the heat load.

Step into a brand new shiny BLACK/DARK painted motorhome on a hot summer day, without the A/C cranking!

1. Heat load demonstration extraordinaire!
2. You will wonder who ever thought of painting RV's black?
3. On a sunny day in winter, then it makes all the sense in the world!

I was told by a dealer that the reason for such duos (Vegas/AXIS) , etc were that different dealers in geographical areas could have different model names. Other than that there is no difference other than minor style changes.

Correct on all accounts, they are the same minus color and fabric changes.

Some manufacturers have the same coach under different names with slightly different features, colors and trim. Forest River does this with the Sunseeker and Forrester model Class Cs.

The reason it is done is so that when two dealers are in the same geographic area they are not competing with the same models. For example in my area there are two Forest River dealers within 50 miles of each other where one sells Sunseeker and the sells Forrester and 2 Thor dealers within 75 miles of each other. One of the Thor dealers sells the Axis and the other carries the Vegas.

Decals and marketing.

Flyfishgrl,
The difference btw Axis and Vegas RUVs are the configuration of the Headlights and color onfigurations. Everything else is the same. I have attached a few pix for you to see the differences. These are all 2016 colors.
