2004 Windsport Construction Meathods

Hello,

Can anyone answer a question or two about how Windsports were constructed back in 2004?

My wife and I will be looking at a 04 Windsport F35 tomorrow, and really love the layout and looks. However, I've tried for two days to find info about how they were constructed. Even the Thor Industries site wasn't of any help. Such as are they a stick MH, or did they use aluminum or steel frame work? If the later, does the framing include the walls, floors and ceilings? Are the fresh water and black/gray tanks sealed in and heated?

Don't think it would make to much difference, but this is the Ford chassis rather then the workhorse. Wish it was the other way around, but up here in Alaska it is difficult to find what you want.

I'm not 100 percent positive but I believe in 2004 Windsport was manufactured by Damon and not Thor. It was a few years later when Thor actually purchased Damon.

You might trying searching for info on the Damon Windsport.

I was wrong. The Windsport was manufactured by Four Winds International before Thor bought Four Winds.

That worked Dave. I had gone to that site a couple of times, but was specific in asking for info regarding 2004 units. However, in following your suggestion it brought up info on several different model years starting in 2000. However, strangely there was a gap starting with 2001 through 2006. Not sure why that would be, but in looking at the 2000 and 2007 brochures, it stated in both that the floor had a steel framework, with the walls and ceilings having an aluminum tubular frame. Somewhat interesting is the fact that in 2000 the floor frame was 1.5 x 1.5 steel members, while in 2007 it simply said 3". Not sure that's taking the 1.5 x 2, or whether some other configuration. Whatever, with the info missing for those six years its impossible to say when the change was made. Regardless, I am happy to learn that there is a steel/aluminum frame and very thankful for your help. Mike
