Heres another suggested mod im planning. Replace the fantastic fans with the reversable ones that have a remote control. One in, one out to get airflow through the coach. Also, my wife cant reach the controls. The remote will be her best friend!

I tow my honda fit 4 down and use a brakemaster controller. For lights I have a towlight wireless light bar and a plug in magnetic set for back up.

I don't tow a car but I do toe a 22' cargo trailer. Under your dash to the left of the steering wheel is a grey plug for the trailer brakes. It's an old school style ford plug. Ford only makes two types so it's easy to get the right one. There was one in with my instruction manuals but I bought a direct plug and play wire for my controller. Under the back of the RV are all but constant power wires to wire up a 7 way. There taped inside conduit so you have to search a little.

A good thing for all of you guys to do is to check the wiring back there. Mine had a number of wire harnesses hanging down on top of the generators exhaust pipe.

Also another note. Run you'd slide all the way in and out without stoping. The motors loose count if you stop part way. I'm not a fan of Schwintek slides so far.

Hi- we just purchased a 30.2 and we love it so far, we haven't had any major trips yet though. The prices you guys were talking about are great. We got ours for ninety with taxes etc. One watch out, the 2016 now come with 40" leds above the dinette. The thOr website shows the new size in the floor plan. They are just now showing up at some lots otherwise most still have the 32. Not a big deal but just something to be aware of. TVs are easily upgraded. We have all the options plus hard plastic over the doghouse instead of carpet. Let me know if you have any questions.

Petef,

I am ready for this edventure Fixing things is not an issue. I'm a very good handyman and don't mind it. I will probably tear apart the whole unit during the inspection lol

If there is anyone viewing this thread and wanting to buy a 2016 Thor ace let me know. I have been in contacts with dealer after dealer and I am sure I could save you some time it finding the best price. I know I would have appreciated something like that when I started looking a few weeks ago.

What advice do you all have on financing? It would be nice to know. I currently have a loan locked in but maybe there is something better out there.

I think it was 4.125%. 20 year. They wanted a higher interest rate to go a shorter term which seamed odd to me.

Lending institutions are in the business of making money. If you pay it off quicker they make less money. To offset this they increase the interest rate. Many times the interest rate is lower but sometimes they do increase it for the stated reason.

I was looking at entry door locks and came across the keypad design. Is it worth upgrading the door locks. Also, where do you guys keep the sewer hose? Any good ideas out there?

I keep my sewer hose in the same compartment as the drain. Just get a hose that can start bending really close to the connector. My old Rhino hose wouldn't work. It went straight a few inches before it could bend. I also added a Tornado tank flush on my black tank. There's plenty of room to install it easily on the side of the tank. I've seen those keypad locks. That would be nice. Sorry I haven't answered your other message. I haven't had a chance to go look inside mine.

Thanks West. Take your time. I'm not in a hurry. Those door locks do look nice. I believe that going to be the first thing I'll upgrade. I hope that the dimensions for the cut out on the door are universal. I would hate to start cutting away on a new unit.

I have a cardboard box the hose is in. Fits in the same area as the connection.

I have been looking at materials for building a sewer hose storage. I like the PVC pipe but I don't know if that is going to be an option. I am thinking about buying the waste master management system and therefore would need more room due to the end piece being larger. I was thinking about using IMPERIAL 12-in x 8-in x 48-in Galvanized Steel Trunk Duct and mount it to the underside.

I saw that and it looks very nice. My concern is the fit. I need to be able to fit it all. This project is still in the planning phase but I need to come up with something that will hold this. I don't want sewer items inside my storage compartments.

Any thoughts?

I use a plastic bin in the storage compartment to hold the items that don't fit in the fence post. They may fit: the fence post is much larger than the sewer pipe.

I'll make sure to post some pictures for whatever I come up with. It's still going to be a long time before I can start working on my RV. Thanks.
