Fuel Costs
I am ready to start another trip to Fl. What are you experiencing in Fuel costs? Someone posted they just filled for 400$. I filled just after race weekend for $3.30 @ 80gals. This might be the last time i see $3.30 a gal.

I'm headed out tomorrow and am planning on paying $3.30 a gallon in Central Texas. Beyond that, who knows. I will still take my long summer trip this year and will enjoy the sights along the way hoping that next years trip will be more affordable. To not use my coach because of fuel costs would be a waste of the money I paid for the thing. But I hope the economy gets fixed as 'we' can't afford for it to stay this way much longer.

Fuel prices will only go up more for the next three years.
Gasbuddy is an app to see prices in any area you want.

Nearing $4 a gallon in Oregon/Washington for regular unleaded. Premium and Diesel $4.30. Rediculous.

Who ever told you that driving an RV would be cheap?
It'll be what it'll be... no need to worry about it.

Fuel Costs
Regular gas in central Indiana is now $3.79 at most stations. I expect it to go up more but I also expect our “wise and learned” government will have to yield to pressure and logic and open up drilling and pipelines again. Of course a lot of the resulting oil will go to Europe so I’m not sure how much effect it will have….
Update! $3.79 is SO yesterday…..today it’s $3.89!!

North Florida and we just got into the $3.60s yesterday off the interstate. Next to the interstate is approaching $3.90. Recently we've been cheaper than the rest of the state so expect higher prices as you go south.

Can't imagine what that is but I'm expecting gas prices to double when Russia shuts down the Pipelines to Europe during the next Winter Storm there...

Gas will be between 6 and 7 dollars by summer. You will never again see it below 3.

Less crowds
I would think during this fuel price rip off if you can afford to travel, I would think you may experience less crowds at parks and attractions.
Not exactly the way I would like to see the COVID Camping Crush come to an end, but many families may have to think long and hard about spending $500 to fill the motorhome every time they want to go somewhere.

Surprisingly that is not what we are finding while planning our summer trip. We are finding more campgrounds are renting sites long term to ensure they are filled. Already hard to find one or two weeks in some areas and many of those are payment up front no refund for any reason.
I am talking nice FHU sites and not dumps.

My coach gets about 7 mpg and we just finished a trip of about 2,000 miles - not an epic journey but still, a nice trip. We used nearly 300 gallons of regular gas. Even if the price increased by $1.00/gallon the trip would only cost $300 more. It’s not “good” but it’s certainly not enough to keep us from taking 2 or 3 such trips a year.

Sure could happen and it is a bit reminiscent of back in 2009-2008
We are in uncharted territory with all that is happening at once

Asking for a full payment always seemed BS to me. Seems rather cutthroat, but I get it. Especially now with fuel costs getting stoopid. If they don't get a full deposit they would be sitting on many empty sites at prime times of the season as people would just cancel and loose the one-night deposit.
On the other hand, if you do cancel and they can resell your spot they are getting a double dip at the cash register. That is BS too.

Same thing I am finding. Spent hours getting more than a day or two in a row at the same site booked.
Since most all are pay ahead, I don't see much change until fall or next year depending on the economy

Perspective. Always perspective.
I envy your under $4.00 a gallon prices. We're paying $1.50 to $2.00 per liter in Canada. We're at $1.80 in the Yukon and going up. Vancouver is really close to $2.00 per liter.
To convert liters to gallons, multiply by 4. So $6.00 to $8.00 per gallon. But of course, there's the dollar conversion - so multiply that by $0.80 to convert to US dollars. So comparing apples to apples, we're paying between $4.80 to $6.40 per gallon.
That's ridiculous pricing - and I'm not pleased. But compared to what the Ukrainians are going through, I feel pretty fortunate. Perspective!
I don't like it. But as Bob says, driving a motorhome is not cheap. We have to drive 1,000 miles of mostly empty highway before our vacation begins. Even with those extra 2,000 miles (1,000 coming and another 1,000 going), we'll be paying an extra $1,000 on diesel this summer than the past.
It is what it is. I'll pay the bill. Enjoy my summer. And have bit less for my kids inheritance. (We call our trips SKI vacations - Spending the Kids Inheritance.)
