AC

I’m trying to figure out why my ac runs on shore power but not on the brand new house batteries that were just installed

Because 12v doesn't run roof AC. Generator or shore power is what is required.

Or an inverter which requires a big one- 2000 watts and the batteries to run it, which is more than most MHs can handle for any length of time.

Welcome to the forum. AC requires 120 VAC and won’t tying 12 VDC
