Air conditioner seems to time out
I'm still in Texas and am running a/c 24/7 and once in a while it just stops. I wait 15 minutes and turn it back on, et voila! it works again. Until the next time. Any idea why? ps outta here real soon!
pss I think I saw something about this in earlier posts, but can't find it.

What is you amp draw doing?
Perhaps you are icing over due to low freon or extreme high humidity

First time I switched to generator power and it seems to work. next time I'll check if the fan runs, but I think it does.

That almost sounds like a brownout to me that you wouldn't experience supplying your own power via the gen.
If you're running the a/c 24x7, it's likely most people are and it won't just be the campground but the entire community in which it's located.
Talk to your neighbors. See if there's anything up with them and/or any correlation that can be drawn. You may not be the only one it's happening to?

Evidently it is my rig. Thing got worse today when I lost all power. For a while I ran everything on my generator, but I decided to see if my power was back after I hit some breakers. Nope. I got finally got back shore power after messing with the breakers again, but now I can't even start my generator. Sigh.

We've never encountered this in our RV, but extrapolating from experience with home air conditioners....
You said you were running the unit 24/7 - what is the outside temp, and where do you have the thermostat set?
Are you possibly "frosting up" on the condenser, and shutting down until it thaws?

Check the connections to your Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS).
Why can't you start your generator now? What happens when you try?
Do you have two accounts?

Thanks. I think my batteries (house) might not be getting properly charged. Right now everything is working on shore power, but will test again later today. Two accounts? I don't think so, but maybe on both emails. I'll check it out. Will have my RV guy check out the ATS connection.

Do we need to merge the accounts?

This is the thread I'm allowed to sign in on. The other one must be old or something.

This was happening to me while I was running my air conditioner on shore power using a 20amp extension cord from my garage. Whenever the air conditioner would stop I could feel the heat across the extension cord and figured there was an accumulating voltage drop across the cord. I switched to a 50 or 60 amp extension cord and it stopped “timing out”. Actually, the breaker was tripping because due to the voltage drop across the extension cord the coach was drawing more current to achieve the same power needed to drive the air conditioner. Anyway, the problem stopped while using a larger amperage extension cord.

Where did you find a 60 amp extension cord?

Yeah, good question considering my coach cord is for
30amp service. I no-doubt have my numbers jumbled due to memory, but the point is, if you do not use an adequate size extension cord, things will not go well. I might’ve actually gone from a 10 amp to a 20 or 25 amp extension cord.
