Thor Hurricane Seats Deterioration

Hello: We own a 2014 Thor Hurricane 34F. No pets. No bugs found. 12,000 miles on our RV. Our seat fabric is disintegrating on every cushion. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

Yes our 2013 Huricane looked worse than that. Thor won’t help!! We had all of our furniture covered with a heavy leather material.

Yeah, 2016 Windsport, leather upholstery. Mine doesn't look as bad but mine is newer and it only has my wife and as people using it. Might want to get a cloth cover for the seats.

Several threads on this...it's the new and better material (2013ish)sometimes called "Pleather" or "Bonded Leather" or "Leatherette" whereby they mix plastic and leather chips in a blender together to make it. Kinda like McDonald's Chicken Nuggets. Rooms-To-Go sold tons of sofas and chairs with it...they had so many issues they quit using the product. No one will do anything about it. Just re-upholster or get covers....or, wear the same color clothes as the seats and the chips won't show on your butts at the Waffle House.

This goes across every one units It seems that the furniture company that made these is out of business

Thumbs down

Not in the RV, but we have the same problem with two fairly expensive recliners in the house. They're only about three years old, and they both look like they have a bad case of psoriasis. And the company we bought them from won't do anything about it. Guess where we won't be buying anything again ?

$6,000 sectional has done the same thing.
So We bought the chopped and formed leather to recover. 30 yards, I don't even want to know what it cost.
We did a test section and the new stuff has gone to hell in every stitch hole.

I guess we'll soon have our first cloth couch ever and I guess the rv bedroom walls (or something) will be recovered in lots of red leather.

YES! We had the same problem with our Serrano. We ordered all new leather furniture and captains chairs from Shop4Seats.com. I'm nearly finished installing it. It's beautiful furniture.

We have the same problem in our ACE and have been looking at new seats from Shop4Seats.com. Which ones did you get?

Same here. Couch, dinette, and captain chairs have the disease.

WOW! You went all in! But those new Captains Chairs sure look nice. I had already replaced our "couch" with a dual reclining loveseat so all we need now are the captains chairs. I'm glad you had a good experience with them.

Had exact same problem. It’s a defect in the fabric from China. Had all upholstery redone . Got a great price from a wonderful person, did a perfect job and it was only $2300.
