Anybody happy with their Class C Thor Motor Coach?

I should have pointed out that NO coach items are included in a MB Service A or B. Strictly the Mercedes engine/chassis. So it is very expensive . .

Well that is your answer and confirms what Thor said.

You may wish to invest in the manual levelers and start using those. That way you can park wherever you need without the search for slight incline, just level before putting slide out.

With regards the MB Service A: Both Service A and Service B include extensive lists of checks and adjustments and fluid fills. Too extensive to list here, but any MB Sprinter owner knows the list. I could have simply asked for an oil change ($300+) but as it had never been done I went for the full Service A plus wiper blades. The first service is more important as they check lots of factory bolts and such. (Theoretically!) The good news is you can go 20K miles between service/oil changes! They suggest 10K and annually, however.

I had similar experience with new Yamaha boat. The book called for 20 hour service. It was brand new so why not? I tell them go ahead and week later they call me with a $750 bill. They had a list too, but I didn't know what the stuff was I politely paid and told them I would would not be back and I have not been. I can't pronounce Mercedes; so I know I don't need to buy one. Besides the one I may have bought, Bob bought; so I am still trying to get over that

My "A" service at my local MB dealership cost me $650.00. It is up from my last MB Class B which was on the same chassis. The dealership said that MB added the requirement to replace the fuel filter which is an additional $200.00.

Hello all,
I have a 2018 Quantum RS26, and after learning by doing (same as cruising on a boat) and travelling 18,200 miles from coast to coast, I'm quite happy with the rig. I do wish that manufacturers would provide a "comprehensive" owner's manual, rather than the slick superficial glossy overviews that pass as an owners manual. Having said that, my two previous cruising boats had the same vague, unhelpful manuals.

I'm still new to RVing and would like to ask a question to members about tire life. My coach has Hankook LTs on it and after 18,000 miles they are wearing well. I keep a careful watch on them and have a TPMS. Any recommendations on the best, quietest, best-riding tires??? Thanks in advance for your opinions and recommendations.

I thought about going to the sales manager to see if I could work a deal but my wife convinced me we should just move forward with this one. Then I made the mistake to start reading reviews about Thors and the reviews make me think we're blowing 100k on what a lot of people seem to think they suck, and because MHS wouldn't work with me on buying a "better" one that the dealer sucks too. So my question is, are there any HAPPY Thor Motor Coach class C owners out there?

I have a 2021 Thor Quantum KW29 and love it even though it has had several minor problems. The unit has total features that few if any other class C’s on the market have: a king bed, washer/dryer, theater recliners, two air conditioners, three TV’s, the Moryde suspension system, tankless water heater, a sliding door separating the bedroom and bath from the front of the unit, a convection microwave, a 3-burner stove, an oven, a 100 watt solar panel, heated black and gray tanks, a total of 8 USB ports, 2 cigarette lighter ports for more power, awnings on both slide outs, distribution system to connect DVD player to feed all TV’s and the V8 engine which produces more torque, more Hp, better gas mileage and is quieter than the older V10 Triton engine (which itself was a great engine). It also pulls 8,000 lbs which is more than just about any other Class C (most class C’s are rated at 5,000 lbs).

The problems it had were (all were fixed or being addressed by dealer):
1) shower pan leak. Fixed.
2) HDMI cable to main TV had been partially severed when installed (they had to remove kitchen area to reroute cable). Fixed.
3) outside shower door lock was replaced. Fixed.
4) Keyless door lock not working. Fixed.
5) Dash USB not working. My fault as didn’t know nav screen had to be on for it to be powered.
6) Clothes doors by rear slide can open during travel and then catch rear slide “arms” and tear off arm when slide is extended. This happened and dealer ordered new arm at no cost.
7) one part on a recliner failed and they ordered a new assembly
8) Gas fill hose is crimped somewhere and can’t pump gas very fast. Dealer will address.

Additional problems found on long trip:

1) the 6 USB ports in the RV (not the two in the cab) are poorly designed and work sporadically. I bought new ones on Amazon and wired them myself all for about $50.
2) the cigarette lighter in the bedroom area was wired backwards and was producing -13v when it should have been +13v, I pulled it out and swapped the wires in about 3 minutes. Fixed.

I consider all the above to be minor to modest but fixable problems. Our recent trip was about 6,500 miles and no new issues except for the one cigarette lighter which I fixed in a few minutes. Small price to pay for all the amenities this unit has which virtually no other class C has…….

And for a gas engine on a 30 ft unit it gets just over 10 mpg at about 65 mph and it drives as easily as a van and rides as smooth as one also. The Ford drivetrain is flawless.

When MHSRV takes a deposit they take that RV off the market. They have the deposit as insurance for people may change their mind.

I have dealt with MHSRV, and I know under right circumstance they will return a deposit, but you have stated no reason to actually get a refund? Somehow, I believe there is more. If you buy the other coach for the $112k and when deal is done, I bet you may have more leverage? But I get back to how much of a deposit did you actually pay?

II have a 2021 Thor Quantum kw29 and love it. It’s got the gas engine but has amenities no sprinter can touch and it cost less at $97,000 plus tax.

We have had 4 RV's (so far). 2 of them were class C's. One was a Thor Fours Winds, the other a Coachmen.

Neither one gave me much trouble beyond some basic fixes (bad water pump in one, unconnected bathroom vent van in the other).

We enjoyed the RV life and moved to a Thor Miramar Class A. 20K miles and zero issues. But it was gas and we knew we wanted to move up again to diesel.

We now have a Thor Aria 3901. We bought it as a leftover 2019 in very late 2020 and expected issues. We had them but all minor and quickly fixed by my dealer (A CW dealer that is excellent).

By stating our lack of problems we've probably set ourselves up for a future of misery but I just wanted you to know that there are good rigs our there made by Thor.

We are not sure if it's the team that builds them on a certain day or the location, etc. But as important is having a good dealer. Thor did not argue with any warranty requests and shipped parts the next day.

We have found that it takes about 6 months to "know" your RV by shaking out our and finding its faults. After you take care of some issues you will generally be happy with your decision.

Love my Four Winds Class C, and very few issues.

Issues:
1. Something is wrong with the included Sirius XM receiver. The radio sees it (displays the ID) but it never picks up any satellites. It's mounted on the roof. Not a big deal since I avoid subscription services, but I did the free trial and wasn't able to actually trial it.
2. The wiring for some of the water tank sensors was taped onto the bottom of the water tanks to keep it from flopping around and that tape came off the first time I drove in the rain.

That's it. No other issues or fixes needed. I've never had a unit as nicely put together out the door as this one. I also love the Chevy chassis, the comfortable Chevy cab, and how it handles.

Just curious. What do you weighh? 10 mpg is great. Have you had the plug wire recall problem?

We have a 2018 thor freedom elite fe 30. We do love it. We had some minor warranty fixes and one major with a slide problem. The dealer took care of the warranty issues. A second dealer semi fixed the slide problem but told us the real fix was from a manufacturing error. I contacted thor and they fixed it at no charge,no warranty.

It's no different than a house that will need upgrades, repairs etc. The big difference is this one barrels down the highway hitting bumps etc so it's going to have things loosen etc.
I don't believe there is ANY motorhome out there that has no problem.s at one time or another.

We picked up a new Four Winds 28A in February. So far we have taken it out twice. First time out the water heater blew a thermocouple on first use. Should have heated the water with propane on PDI, just electric, which worked. Easy fix once I did enough research. Bought extra thermocouples.
Radio won't mirror USB. Not a deal breaker, but if I've paid for it, I want it to work. One is on order
SiriusXM radio antenna seems to be missing. Also on order.
One of the covers for the garage storage compartments doesn't fit very well. Just got a piece of plywood, painted it black. Fits perfectly.

I'm really enjoying doing mods on the MH. Extra USB ports, vent fans (computer case fans!), storage tie down system, exterior lighting.

Suspension upgrades: Alignment (makes it feel like a new vehicle, oh, wait, it is!), soon to install front sway bar. More to come.

We've had our Quantum Sprinter KM24 for almost a year and a half and are delighted with it! Its size is perfect for us, it is easy to drive, setup and maintain. We've had a few small problems with it 1. the bathroom door would stick (I took the door off, shaved it and resealed it), the microwave came unplugged while driving (had to pull out the microwave, plug it in, and re-install it), the valve stem on our driver side dual tire would not connect (someone showed me the workaround), and finally the XM antennae has never been correctly installed so reception is screwy.


That last problem has been annoying as we enjoy XM. We've taken it in to get repaired and we now have 3 antennas, one on top (not connected), and two in the window (won't work when driving north)! This is irritating as the dealer where we bought it is two hours away, a closer camperworld is difficult to communicate with. So, not sure what to do. I'd actually like to get a nicer head unit from a local car-stereo installer and have them tackle it and get it down to one antenna that works!

If you mean what is the rig weight I think about 14,500 lbs GVWR. What is the plug wire recall? I know the old Triton V10 had plug problems wherein there weren’t enough plug threads on some blocks and the engine would “spit” the threaded plug out of the block.

Per the specs you should be able to flat tow your HHR and be within specs. I can't comment on performance while towing but you are within the capabilities of the rig.

The HHR is one of the few 2WD vehicles that can be flat towed but not dolly towed according to the Owners manual.
