Automatic awning is dead

My awning was working fine then suddenly quit. No power when pushing switch. I looked at my fuse panel and it said the awning is #11 but there is no fuse in the #11 slot. Anyone know what could be the possible problem? I have a 27K Hurricane, 2014.

Use your volt/ohm meter to see if there is 12v at the switch. If not start looking for the blow fuse. It could be as simple as a switch contact that needs cleaning.

Thank you. I guess I'll need someone here to show me how to do that. I don't see any way to get behind the switch. there is a frame around the switch with other switches on each side and no visible screws or obvious way to get under it. And I don't know what a "blow fuse" is. There is no fuse in the position shown as the awning fuse. I'm really new at this stuff!

This sure sounds like a blown fuse to me. I've had to replace mine twice. Mine on the Vegas is position 11 on the converter. On my converter, the position 11 is partially covered by the converter cover. I have to remove the two screws and take off the cover to access the position 11 fuse.

Before ripping into wiring and switches, I'd be absolutely sure it isn't a fuse. The fuse should be a 15 amp (blue) automotive type fuse on the converter fuse panel. Put a 15 amp fuse in position 11 and see what happens.

Here's a picture of my converter panel. The awning fuse is the bottom blue fuse.

A nice feature of this control panel is that each fuse has an LED located just to the right of the fuse position. If a fuse blows, the LED will light.

If you have the WFCO 8955 converter I'm sure that Thor has standardized what goes to each fuse position regardless of model. The wiring schematic for my VIN has a note block on the drawing showing what goes to each position.

Are you sure you were referring to the converter fuse panel when you said position 11 is blank? That should be the fuse for the awning. You said your awning had been working but now it isn't. I do not understand how it was working if the fuse in position 11 was missing? When it was working there would have had to been a fuse in that position. I can't understand where the fuse went.

I'm not sure if the 2014 model had Rapid Camp. My 2015 does, so there is not even a fuse position in the electrical panel for the awning. Instead, the Rapid Camp controller contains the fuses for the awning, porch light, etc. The Rapid Camp controller (wireless system) is located under the dinette seat in my Windsport 27K.

As I said in my post earlier, if a fuse blows (or is removed) from the main fuse panel you would see an LED illuminated next to that fuse position.

Think I'd better go directly to a Thor dealer or corporate. There is no fuse in the spot that is suppose to be the awning and the red LED light next to it isn't lit up so I don't want to put a fuse there if there isn't suppose to be one. I don't know anything about Rapid Camp, Converter, etc.
Thanks, all of you, for trying to help but this makes me very nervous that nothing seems to make sense to me. I don't know if other years and models of Thor are the same as my 2014 Hurricane.

no fuse in number 11

my awning stopped working today. One minute it worked...then it wouldn't. I have a Thor Vegas 24.1. There is no fuse in number 11 so I am at a loss as well. Any updates

If yours is like my Thor none of the fuses or breakers are labeled right so it could be a crap shoot finding the right one.

I had my awning out during a rain storm. When I went to retract it, it didn't work. Changed the #11 fuse still didn't work. Needed to retract because we were getting ready to go home.

Went out to awning. Lowered the awning supports so the front corner where the motor is could be reached. I manually rotated the motor a little bit (it was pretty stiff because of the spring in the motor. Went back inside and tried the switch again. It retracted and we haven't had s problem again -- go figure.

Loose wiring

My awning stopped working because there was one wire that had pulled loose from a plug in a connection under my refrigerator. Worked as soon as it was repaired.

On ours there is a relay, one of 3, under the water heater that controls the awning. Fuse # 11 supplies power to the relay but the relay ground had fallen off do to bad crimp. Also on ours you can't run the awning out or in if the engine is running.

On my Vegas the wiring on the switch vibrated loose. Apparently when they installed the switch the wiring harness was attached and pulled to wherever it goes and was very tight, it took some fiddling around to get enough slack to reconnect the wires to the switch.

Did not know that, thanks for the heads up.

Does anyone know where the circuit breaker panel or fuse panel is on a 2015 Axis 24.2. Awning has only worked about 3 times in a year. Not working again and I hate to tie it up at Camping world again.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I found the fuse panel but #11 is good but the awning still does not work. I will have to do more troubleshooting very soon.

My awning and slide will not work (no power when pushing button) if I try using the remote. Had to remove all AC hookups, battery disconnect and then got them to work but left remote off. SOmething with remote is making the control on both go nutz... just something to check on yours. Its back at dealer and will let you know what they find.
