Awning Broken housing on both ends - 2023 Thor AXIS 24.1

I noticed yesterday that my end caps on my awning were gone. I retraced my drive path because I had heard a noise as I drove through my residential neighborhood. I found the parts that came off. There was a very small branch above the road that I saw near these parts. I am reaching out to the awning manufacturer "Freedom" to see if they can sell me the parts.
Anyone else had this experience?

Everyone will eventually.
Drill a hole in the cover.
Drill a hole near that hole in the back plate/awning part and use a ziptie or string to ensure the next time it comes off it stays with the rv.

This fixes it if you're of mind to.

No but I have to call the city to cut trees and to have some owners cut their trees back ever year when they get kind of low all within 1 mile of our house. Pretty trees but not when they are in the road. I think I piss some people off that may be behind me because I have to zig zag the lanes, I am sure they think I am drunk, but that's not the point

Also, I would try calling the Awning Mfg directly, just tell the you lost it and see what they say.

When you get the new ones, do as Duck said. That will ensure they remain on the awning. I had the same thing happen a few years ago on my Class C.

That is what I did. The covers have no positive attachment. An overhead branch will rip them right off.

Havenít lost one since.

We had one our "caps" on our 2018 Axis 25.3 bedroom slide break a few years ago when we hit something. (OOPs, pilot says a few gnarly words )

Our awing was made by Carefree of Colorado. We had hoped to just buy a new cap, but had to get a completely new awning. Thor would not sell us one direct, nor would Carefree but we were able to get one rather easily by going through a dealer (General RV). It just took quite a wile to arrive as it was shortly post-Covid.

Once we had it, it was relatively simple to replace it ourselves (saving another long wait for service appointment and beaucoup bucks on labor charges.) Ours was the smaller awning, but with enough hands to support the bigger one, I think that wouldn't be much harder to DYI install either.

Yup, happened to me as well. I used some 3M electrical tape to hold the replacement in place. Haven't lost another.

I lost a cover from our Solera awning somewhere between Ohio and Colorado last summer. A single screw holds it on. I put blue thread locker on the new screw. Logic told me to do the same to the existing one. I added that to my annual checklist.

I had three sources for the end caps (manufacturer, Amazon, RV Upgrades) but my dealer actually found them in stock. I purchased and installed them today and used gorilla tape around the seams where the front and back meet. The back sides are secured with screws.

Oddly the manufacturer had a 7-10 lead time to ship plus a $40 shipping charge.

Thanks all for the feedback!

Carefree

Looks like a CareFree awning. Had same issue, my Rv had more down time over a CareFree awning. Carefree my blank blank.

Switched Girard. Had first run this week. So far so good.

Please add gorilla tape to the parts where the seams join on the end caps
