Thor Outlaw trim.

I am starting on repairing the side wall separation at the front of my 2013 Outlaw 3611. Does anyone have any ideas on how the belt line trim is removed? It does not want to seem to snap off and I am afraid of mangling it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thor side seperation

I was able to remove the drivers side trim and start my sidewall seperation repair. I decided to leave the trim base on and drill through it and use as a washer. I also decided to use 1/4” carriage bolts. The heads are low profile and the square hole let’s me tighten the nyloc nuts as we travel, without having to remove the trim again. Don’t forget that there are three self tappers in the engine bay that should be replaced with bolts also. They should be easy to find, they are in line with the wall. Going to do the passenger side next, even though is not moving yet, ounce of prevention! I have included pictures of the process, including the engine bay bolts. Hope this helps, y’all!

Just completed passenger side. I made one modification that helped with re-installing the trim. I filed the two sides of the carriage bolts so I would not have to modify the trim. With the two opposite edges filed, the trim has room to snap in place. See photos.

Working on my '15 Outlaw, also.

I am starting this same floor/wall separation repair and I still need any ideas on how the belt line trim is removed?

I tried a razor knife along the top edge of the trim and no luck.

I looked from underneath and the trim all looks pretty solid.

So far I have removed the front r/h fender and the adjacent cargo door, both which were damaged by the wall settling. (settled at least 5/8" or more)

Thanks for any help.

Outlaw Trim

The trim is an aliminum piece. I used two flat head screwdrivers, the largest I could find, and starting at one end, pryed the bottom out. I would slide the screwdriver down the gap, twist the flats to about 45 deg, then slide the other screwdriver down and twist again. Try not to pry at too much of an angle, the aluminum trim ban be bent. To re-install, I used a dead-blow hammer to keep from denting or marking the trim. I then used silicone to glue the end caps back on. A close look at the pictures you can see where the trim lips snap into the base I had to file the ends of the carriage bolts to allow those lips clearance to snap back in. Any other help I can give, please let me know!

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have the screwdrivers and I will give it a try tomorrow.

one more question: Did you have to raise or jack the wall up to match the floor?

My wall has dropped over 5/8" the last time I checked. Just looking for ideas on how to raise and hold it for bolting.

No, I did not have to raise the wall to match. I think when I first found the problem, I started by replacing the self-tappers (3 inches long!) in the engine bay with bolts. That may have kept the wall from moving. Probably got lucky.
