Are you certain it's the drive shaft? Is the service department simply shooting the parts cannon at it with fingers crossed?

Wheel bearing? Life each tire off ground spin wheel, move back and forth. Did this issue start after you got new tires or before?

Brand new tires can have defects, happens fairly often. I wouldn't rule them out.

What, if any, work was done just prior to this starting? There are articles on driveshaft phasing, some driveshafts have slip couplers that could get out of phase. But only if yer driveshaft was messed with.
How was the transmission "checked" if I may ask?

More info please.
Where is the 'rumbling' coming from? The roof, the back, more in front... underneath?
Vibration also, where is it more pronounced? In the back, front, L or R side, feel it in the steering wheel, feel it more in feet or roof?
I have read about some roofs "de-laminating" and causing horrible sounds... something else to think about.
Another item could be a broken fan blade...
Good luck

Driveshaft noise
Many of Thor's MHs in the Vegas and Axis class have driveshafts that were lengthened along with the E-350/450 frame they are built on. This is so you can get an "A" type body on a "B" type chassis. I believe the frame and driveshaft work is farmed out to another company.

Casey,
Next time you are out in your RV please check the RPM at which this noise/vibration occurs. Is it at or near 2100/2200RPM? Also, do you have the V-10 Ford motor? If so, I have had the same problem with another brand that uses the V-10 and I can give you insight as to what it might be, but I have not been able to get Ford to do anything about it.
Our first real RV was a Vegas 24.1...now we are SOB (some other brand).

The Ford, Triton V-10, gas engine uses a split journal crankshaft design which creates two vibrations nodes. The balance shaft in the driver's side cylinder head counters most of the side-to-side rocking and the motor mounts help with the vertical vibration component. All this helps but the is still a critical vibration harmonic (tail wag) around 1,700 rpm and again at 3,400 rpm. My engine rocks enough at 1,700 rpm that if I stay around that rpm, the rocking harmonic is severe enough so the the exhaust pipe tip vibrates enough to continually hit the aluminum heat shield on the coach. I just avoid cruising at those rpms.

Don’t forget. Check all tires. Have each tire and rim balanced.
