A Group Observation

This is not an observation by a group, but rather an observation I have about a group, namely the member of Thor Forums.

I have hung around forums about many different subjects including, but not limited to: RVs, autos, ham radio, computers, and probably some I don't remember. I have been a member here for a bit over three weeks. So far I am amazed how adult acting and good natured everyone here seems to be. Everyone is very helpful and willing to share their experience to benefit the rest. So to all, thanks for helping me with questions I have had and thanks for a refreshing experience, I'm pretty sure this is the nicest bunch I have run across in many, many forums. Please accept my compliments and I hope to have many more pleasant experiences and exchanges here.

Ken

I have been here over a year and really like the layout and the people in the Forum.
Hey, we are all in the same "boat" so to speak - so may as well share ideas, fixes and wishes.

Save travels.

We might say that RV misery loves company. The folks here have been super helpful and friendly. I have been on some RV forums where many of the members are downright hostile -- especially to newbies. You do not find that here.

I really don't understand the hostility..it waste's so much energy and thought. It is far easier to be considerate and constructive (taking my lazy approach LOL).

As my dear grandpa used to say "He would complain if he was hung with a new rope".

Over 40+ years of a career in animal health product distribution sales I had the pleasure to work with a number of positive thinking people. AND I had the displeasure to work with a number of negative thinking people.

Consider that, from early childhood through adolesence, most people hear many more negative things such as: No, don't touch that. No, take that out of your mouth. Stop hitting your brother. No you cannot go to Johnnies. Etc, etc, etc. Reportedly up to 70% of early age direction is negative!

So it is little wonder there are some forums where the negative people congregate and "share" their negative outlooks. Thankfully this forum is an exception to the rule! We are truly blessed to have some great contributors who happily answer some of the most basic questions, many that have been asked several times in the past.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MAKES US ALL FEEL AT HOME!!

Totally agree Ed.... This forum is a breath of fresh air compared to other areas of discussion people get involved with on the net.

We bought our Axis in January, 2016. Had it not been for the 'well documented' electrical problem we had out of the gate, Ron and I would not have had the opportunity to share our difficulty and have such a gathering of knowledgeable RV owners come to the rescue. We feel like we have friends, who we may never meet face to face... We have always enjoyed our camping experiences and have met many folks who are fun and genuinely interested in one another.

Thank YOU forum members !!

I agree that this is a great forum and lots of helpful input from knowledgeable folks. I can honestly say that as a newbie I learned so much about my RV that I had no clue about. Thankful every day that it's available.

For the past 35 years I have been dealing with John and Jane Q. Public (civilian and military) when most are at a very vunerable situation - in my dental chair - and even there some are hatefull and some are nice.
Twenty some years ago a good patient of mine gave me a plaque and I feel that is pretty much is the mindset of most of the members of this forum. The plaque reads:

"Everyone entering this place makes us happy...some when they arrive and some when they leave"..

Let's keep sharing and improving our "rides".
