Axxera Video Quality

We're a little less than satisfied with the quality of video from our rear and side cameras with the Axxera AV615BHM system that came with our Windsport.

Not sure if this is an issue with the cameras or monitor, but we definitely notice an issue with glare on the screen, but even in the best circumstances the picture quality seems pretty poor.

Has anyone replaced their cameras or monitor and what were the results? It seems like the camera built in to the mirrors might be a little hard to replace, but I would assume the rear camera should be a fairly straightforward swap-out. I hate to think about replacing the monitor with all the connections underneath, but if we could get something with significantly higher quality, and less susceptible to glare, I would consider it.

Post 78 in my signature thread for a better monitor.

The side cameras are a fist fight best suited for someone with infinite patience and the ability to repair stripped holes and having a sizable workbench to spread it all out on.

The rear camera can or cannot be changed easily dependant on your cable splicing abilities.

A good solution for the rear camera is a dash camera facing backwards and a 10 inch android tablet.

Replace the axxera and be a LOT happier.
186 and 379 in my signature thread.

Many people are dissatisfied with the size and location of the monitor on the radio and have mounted a separate monitor on the dash and tapped into the video out of the camera multiplexor box.

This is what I have sitting on my dash:

Others use multi-input monitors from RearViewSafety.com

Axerra products are mediocre at best. My display lost its contrast and had to be replaced, under warranty. It is working "okay" now, but I had to reset the radio, after it was replaced, because the screen froze. I simply located the radio fuse in the fuse box, pulled out the fuse, then put it back in. It did the trick but I will probably look into replacing the entire system, if I start having more issues after the warranty period runs out.

They do have a "reset" button right on the front.

I bought this Eyoyo 10 inch but the 12 volt power supply is 110 volt plug. Did you buy a 12 volt power cigarette lighter plug?

No, I hardwired mine with an inline fuse to an ignition powered 12 VDC tap. It comes on automatically when I start the coach.

It's probably more about the video quality of the Axxera; than it is about the cameras...
Get yourself a Kenwood

My story is I bought my 2019 Thor ACE in August 2020 and the cameras and the Axxera were not working. The dealer owes me an Axxera and working camera system.

The new Axxera is back ordered due to COVID so they keep telling me. I bought this Ayoyo to test the camera system. If the cameras do work I then have the option to wait for the new Axxera or install a Kenwood.
