Battery Disconnect Switch

Need Help! My 2017 Mercedes Sprinter does not have a battery disconnect switch. Is there a reason for this and would there be any problem having one installed. Mechanic seemed leery of istalling one.

I have two of them.
One is mechanical, just the big knife switch things the other is remote control.
Pick either one.

I'm unsure why you'd want one though....

And while he's in there

Does the rv live at your house or away on a lot?
The remote battery disconnect and a remote start... You wouldn't have to leave your house if the rv lives close enough....

How about trying a solar battery charger on the dash, and in the Sun?

I use a solar battery charger on my MB Sprinter Chassis motor home. It helps to keep it charged while sitting at the storage lot. If you check your MB owner manual, it says you can disconnect the chassis battery with the connection point near the fuel pedal. There is a sequence you need to follow to do this disconnect.

Paul,
Do you know of a link to a description of that process?

If my memory serves me right it is in the owner's manual. I will have to look it up when I am at the mh. I will research it and get back to you Bob.

Install one yourself. Mount it in the line between the frame ground connection and the batter negative poll. I bought one from a marine store.
