What PSI For blowing out lines

I know the water system is setup for 40psi but if I have a valve or faucet open what should I be using as far as PSI to blow out the lines for winter. Still 40 or like 100PSI assuming I have a valve open at all times. I'm trying to avoid putting Antifreeze in the lines so it makes winter weekend trips easier.

Never exceed 40-50 psi on your pressure regulator. Most systems will take 80 or more psi but why take a chance.

I am 40 to 50 and have blown the water out for several years with no problems of freezing. Antifreeze in the traps and toilet. I open all faucets and then close all and do one at a time till no water.

Most of the little so called water regulators are preset at 45 psi, I've got an adjustable regulator set at 55 psi & have never had a problem. Most rv water systems are tested to 65 & rated higher to around 80. For blowing them out to winterize 40 should be sufficient, but normal water pressure 40 is too low in my opinion.

Some years ago I had the shower replaced at the Four Winds Factory. As a part of the repair they did a test at 80 psi. So I wouldn't be all that fussy to keep it at 40 or less, but I would avoid getting up anywhere near 80.

As an added trick leave the system pressurized with air over the winter. When you de-winterize come spring if the system still has air you know it's leak free.

Air pressure will not winterize an ice maker. Been there, done that and paid the price for a new ice maker solenoid valve.
