Beeping Noise

Anyone ever ID a beeping noise when your coach is shut down, 12v power relay switch off. Sounds like a smoke detector type noise, but that doesn't seem to be the source.

It is the propane leak detector/ propane leak detector-carbon monoxide detector. These units have a secondary function because they are hard wired into your electrical system. That is to let you know when they are in danger of not being able to do their job due to low voltage. It is likely telling you the house batteries are very low. I am guessing the coach must not be on shore power or on shore power with the disconnect off.

Odd, my propane/CO detector shuts off when I flip the battery disconnect.

follow the noise to the source...

Odd indeed. Maybe its been rewired? Because of the safety nature of the device, it is typically hard wired into the electrical system and cannot be turned off by a disconnect switch.

Yep, mine is wired through a five amp fuse attached to the house battery side of the latching relay. The only way to disable it is to trip the 50 amp 12 volt CB in the house battery compartment or pull the 5 amp fuse.

Pretty sure mine wasn't rewired, my TT was the same.. Battery disconnect is IMO for storage, leaving the detector active would kill your batteries given enough time.

My 2020 was originally a rental unit, perhaps that explains the disconnect pulling all loads from house batteries.

Regardless, op needs to follow the noise. It could be a battery operated alarm clock beeping in a drawer. Gas detector should be really loud and easy to find I would think, although if it faulted...

If it is the CO/LP detector that is beeping, it may also not be due to your coach batteries. As garnered from Google, to confirm what I had learned previously:

CO alarms have a life expectancy of around seven years. All CO alarms produced after August 1, 2009, have an end-of-life warning notification that alerts the resident that the alarm should be replaced. The CO alarm will beep every 30 seconds or display ERR or END

If that's the case, it is time to replace the detector.

Cant speak to why yours might be wired differently from most but I can tell you that those units are typically hard wired into the wiring on most modern RVs intentionally because they are safety devices. And yes, that fact that it leaves the detector active will in fact kill the batteries given enough time. That is why I always tell people during a demo that unless their unit is stored plugged in, the batteries WILL go dead. Turning off the disconnect will only prolong the period before they go dead. You can always add a 3rd party disconnect knob by the battery that will completely disconnect the battery but it is not recommended for "safety reasons".

What is the age of your detector?
Might be aging out.
Mine did that.

Might have died early as well, my Atwood failed last weekend, LP detection doesn't work at all and it was making beep-beep-beep noises not as loud as full alarm based on what it does when testing.

Manufacture September of 2018, so 4 years and dead...

I don't believe the original OP stated what year his rig was but it is a Challenger 35MQ and that floor plan has only been in production since 2019.

2022

He's probably plugged in with the battery disconnect open and the CO/Propane detector hardwired to the house batteries. Low voltage beep.

Beeping noise

Sorry all. Hurricane prep. Rig is not plugged in. Batteries are showing 12v-ish on the panel. 2022 rig. Detector seems to be first on my list to check. Thanks for all info.
