You can put airbags on the back. If you did a kit with a compressor and dash controls, all you'd have to do is pump them up before you get on and off the ferry. My Ride-Rite airbags I put in my Vegas lift the back axle area about 2-3 inches at full pressure.

Looks like Ride-Rite doesn't make a kit for the Sprinter vans but other companies do. Probably would be a good upgrade regardless. Aren't those Sprinter rear ends pretty sacked out anyway? Airbags are always at the top of my list of upgrades for most any motorhome.

If you absolutely have to cross the river: do it in style.

This is what I used. You can get either fixed of swiveling wheels, I chose the swivel wheels which allow you to turn without creating a side load on the wheels.

There is also a steel wheel that attaches with the hitch pin, I do NOT recommend you get this one, it leaves marks on everything it touches and does not extend down very far from the hitch.

Super D - do you have vendor info on the hitch wheels you showed in your photo. We have the same steep driveway problem. Thank you

A different perspective. Our Axis 24.2 is so low that I worry about scraping between the wheels when driving over a hump of any kind. The only time I have scraped, so far, it was the battery frame under the entry steps. Luckily, I foresaw the possibility when we purchased the MH and had removed the trim below the door figuring that I would replace it whenever we sell or trade it.

I had a rear end dragging problem on a 24 foot class C many years ago. I solved the problem by having an extra leaf spring put on each side. The spring was put in just below the main leaf and went from shackle to shackle. It lifted the rear a couple of inches. I am sure the extra height in the rear cased a loss of caster angle, but I didn't get it realigned and it was fine. Actually the extra weight on the front tires made for better braking. The RV was so light in the front that a near panic stop would cause the front tires to loose traction on dry pavement.
